CHAPTER TWENTY THREE
ONE of the things that she have learned when she started living in the Philippines is to never lose hope despite of all the difficulties in life. Even though to live is to also taking all the risks that she needs to face... alone.
Maybe she was just hopeful that her mother really loved and cared for her. That's why she's still staying with her even if there were a lot of reasons to leave.
Why she didn't leave when she felt like she wasn't treated fairly and justly?
Why she did stay when she knew her that her mother would choose other people over her?
Why she kept on hoping that everything between them would change and her mom would eventually change and accepted her as hers... as her own daughter. Her own blood and flesh.
Valeska couldn't believe what her mother have done.
She's still very weak and her head is spinning. But she needed to stay conscious so these men won't have a chance to do something against her will. Kahit na alam niyang kapag dumating sila sa kung naan man ang paroroonan nila, ang posibilidad na makatas ay napakaliit nalang para sa kanya.
She stopped arguing, shouting and wriggling so that she could save energy. Once she got the opportunity to run, she would do all her best to escape from these evil men.
It was already dark and she wasn't really familiar with the place. All that she knew is they already left Pampanga because she saw some road signs going to Olongapo.
The car slowed down. Tumingin siya sa labas ng bintana at nakita na papasok ang sasakyan sa isang tila pribadong port!
"Please! I'm begging you! Don't do this to me! Please!" She begged to the man, sitting beside her.
For some strange reason, he didn't talk to her even though she kept on shouting. He didn't even lay his fingers on her for the whole time. He's just sitting there as if she wasn't nothing and he didn't hear her.
When Valeska saw the armed men who guard the gate, she turned her body on the window to get their attention. Kinalampag niya ang bintana kaya naalarma ang lalaki.
"Stop! Hoy!" The bulky man sitting at the front passenger seat tried to stop her from grabbing her hand.
Ngunit hindi siya nagpatinag sa mga ito. Lalo na nang lumapit ang armado at unipormadong lalaki sa driver's side at kinatok.
"Patigilin mo 'yan," it was like a warning from the driver.
"You're going to kill all of us! You bitch!" The old man beside her grabbed her hair that made her winced because it hurts her.
"Let go of me!"
"You! Shut up!" Then he poked her waist with a cold metal and it felt like a gun!
Nanginig sa takot si Valeska. If she would keep on shouting and wriggling, there's a chance that this man would shoot her. But if he did, then the guard would get alarmed.
Napalunok siya at sinikap na tumahimik. Kaagad na nakaisip ng paraan kung paano makakatakas sa sitwasyong niyang 'yon.
The driver rolled down his window for the guard to check what's inside or who's inside.
It's dark and she didn't really give her attention to the guard's faces outside. But when she needed to get the guard attention, she realized that she kinda knew him!
"Saan kayo pupunta?" That voice was icy.
He's armed like the other guards who are now checking their car outside.
