*Tarzan's POV

The only bright side of this situation is that, my love for Jane has only grown. All I think about is her and the baby.

I wonder if it's a boy or girl.

The first day I ran as far as I could and found a strong, tall tree. In District 10, the livestock district, there were a lot of plants, including trees, to feed the animals.

In my free time, Jane and I would have climbing contests. If only winning a playful contest, was my biggest worry.

In the tree, there was a branch a little wider than my foot, about 70 feet in the air. Over the past couple of days I have been tying smaller, but sturdy, branches together to it to make a floor.

My roof is made out of leaves, in case it rains, or it gets unbearably hot.

I have been going on land to gather food and supplies during the day, and sleeping at night.

So far, I haven't encountered anyone, which worries me. If there isn't enough action, I wouldn't be surprised if they send a forest fire my way.

And that is the only thing keeping me alive.

Hopefully Jane would be proud.

The only downside with my hut, is my bad eyesight. I can barely see the ground, especially at night.

Still, there haven't been any cannons shot. Maybe they are broken?

It's unheard of for no one to die within the first day.

As the sunsets, I think of Jane. Everything I see, I think of her.

Above me I see a parachute. I mentally cheer, and let it land in my hands.

Something borrowed and something new. It's a girl.
-Nani (Jane)

I cry and blow a kiss to the sky knowing that Jane is watching.

My baby girl, girls now, are safe.

I haven't even checked what she sent me. My old glasses! I always told her that they are the only ones that work. I've tried many different types. I put them on and cheer again. Also in the box is binoculars.

This must of cost a fortune, I've never actually seen binoculars before, only learned about them as a child.

My burst of joy is disrupted by rustling leaves beneath me. The person below me does not see me because I hid my "house," but I can see her. She's very skinny with dark skin. I can't risk dying, I'll have to live with the guilt if it means getting out to Jane.

I quietly get my bow and arrow out and shoot an arrow into her chest. She looks up, but she's not quick enough. Soon, a cannon blows.

She was the first. 1 down, 22 to go.

*Aurora's POV

I've been spending most of time pacing. I know that's probably not the safest option, but I don't know what else to do. In the beginning, I tried to go in a different direction each day to try and find Phillip, but there came a point where it would be a miracle if I found him in this arena. It could be 5 or 25 miles long.

Luckily, no one has found me yet, which surprises me.

I'm behind a tree, sitting, when it happens. A cannon.

My heart starts racing, and all I can think is that it might be Phillip. I get on my feet and run, I need to find him now. I can't sit around here waiting any longer.

Trying not to make any noises, I sprint through the forest. This is the first time, since I've been here, that I can see him again.

'I can't give up. I can't give up.' I keep saying to myself.

While I am running I collide head on with a girl, with brown hair. We back away from each other, scared of what one of us will do. I get up and run in the opposite direction.

*Belle's POV

Phillip has started to worry me, he is avoiding me and won't talk about anything except food, shelter, and Aurora. When he was going out to hunt, I took a run for it. I know that when he finds his girlfriend, he will kill me. One step closer to him surviving. Even if he doesn't want to, I'm sure Aurora will convince him.

Jogging through the forest, I see something running as the same speed, if not faster, as me. Before I can register to turn, we crash into each other.

So this is how I die.

I look into her violet eyes, she looks familiar, but I can't put a name with the face. She looks at me as well, waiting for the same thing to happen; pulling out a knife and get a stab to the heart.

Instead we both get up and run in opposite directions, I have no other choice than to go back to Phillip, maybe I can get what he's hiding out of him, if I share my information.

Running back, I find Phillip cooking an animal, probably a squirrel, looking as deflated as any day.

I decide to blunt. "I know you're hiding something."

He tries to look like he has no idea what I'm talking about, but he's a very bad actor. "Belle, I-"

"I won't kill you." Probably.

"I, uh, saw Adam."

Maybe that was the cannon that went off? "That's a good thing!"

"Last night."

My heart dropped. The cannon hadn't been him. "Why didn't you wake me up?"

"He didn't see me, if he did he might have killed me."

"If he didn't hear or see you, why didn't you kill him? It was the one thing I asked for!"

"He could have killed me and you for all I know, I'm not that quick as it is, and it was pitch black outside!"

I take a deep breath. "We will come across Adam again, and when we do, you're going to help me kill him. Or else I'm done helping you find Aurora."

"I understand." We sit in silence for a minute, when I tell him what happened earlier. "I ran into someone today."

He looks down from the sky. He's been watching it all day in hope of seeing who was killed. "Who?"

"I don't know, it was a little after the cannon went off. It was a girl with long blond hair, and violet eyes."

His eyes widen in surprise. "Belle!" He yells in anger. "It's her! Aurora! How could you be so stupid?" His brown eyes filled with rage and fear, and something else I couldn't place.

"I swear, I didn't know that. I would never do that intentionally." I was scared that he would kill me on the spot.

"Don't just stand there! We have to find her!" My mind is racing. Phillip is yelling and I'm trying to remember which way I came from.

"This way!" I point in a directions, which seems familiar. I'm not 100% positive, but I don't dare tell Phillip that.

He is sprinting and after a couple of minutes I can't keep up. "Belle come on!"

I'm leaning against a tree when runs back and pulls my arm, "I have to find her!" Luckily within the next minute I see her out of the corner of my eye gathering fruit.

"There!" I scream.

Aurora turns toward us and runs into Phillip's arms and starts crying.

"I never thought I would see you again."

After they were done catching up, I decide to leave their group.

"I've caused enough trouble here."

Aurora and Phillip look up at me. "What do you mean?" Phillip asks.

"I think I'm going to go. I wish you guys luck." Aurora sends me a sympathetic smile and I'm on my way.
