Eric's POV

The first thing I saw when I opened my eyes was a beautiful girl with flaming red hair.

I whipped my knife out and she took a step back.

I thought I should throw it, it would be my first kill, but instinct told me not to.

I dropped it to the ground. "I don't want to hurt you." I said. I didn't have any allies, and she just saved my life.

I had been running through the forest, trying to get as far away from the cornucopia as I could. When I tripped on a rock and fell into the water. I didn't know how to swim. They didn't cover that in training. I thought I was dead. Nobody would find me and they would just kill me anyway. So I gave up. I let myself sink and just go away. I thought I was dead, until I felt pain still coursing through my lungs. I didn't do anything. Just waited until it was over. And now, I am coughing up water.

"Did you just save me?"

She nodded.

"Thank you."

She kicked the dirt with her boot.

"I guess this is goodbye then." She picked up her backpack and started to walk away.

"Wait," Esmeralda had left me and I had nobody. "Do you want to ally with me?"

She turned around with desperate eyes. "Please."

Meg's POV

I'm sitting by a tree. Alone. Nobody is around but I dare not fall asleep, in case anyone is around and I don't know.

I clutch my small knife. This is all I have. I wouldn't grab anything else in the cornucopia.

So there I sat, my eyes droopy, my back killing me, and the small knife in my hand.

I was so stupid. Just because I thought Hercules was a player, I said no to his request of being a career. Although, it could've been a trick and I would be their first kill.

I didn't realize that I fell asleep.

"Herc! What did you do?!" I heard whispers.

"I had to help her. She was too vulnerable." I heard his voice.

"Exactly. Vulnerable. An easy first kill."

"Listen, I saw her in training. She is smart. We have the brauns, now we need brains."

It all went silent.

"Two days. If she is extra weight, we are killing her."

"Fine."

I opened my eyes and I was in darkness. A small light coming from a hole in the ceiling of a small cave.

I reached up and felt moss. I was in a hollow log.

I tried to find a way out but there were no other openings than the hole.

Then, I heard the anthem play.

I peeked through the whole and saw the Capitol seal in the sky. No faces showed up.

This was the first game with no deaths in the battle of the cornucopia.

Peter's POV

I sat perched in a tree and watched as the last career ran into the forest.

I slid down the wood and ran towards the cornucopia to scavenge for what was left. Ariel had left me so I was on my own.

A bow, a sheath of arrows, a backpack, and a lonely dagger all the way in the back.

After this, I was going to find Tinkerbell. She told me she would be my ally if she needed me.

As I went around the cornucopia, I saw a young girl laying on the ground, a pool of blood around her.

She looked pretty dead to me. But no cannons had gone off yet.

I ran over to the cornucopia to take anything that was left.

But, I couldn't ignore her. Her soft skin, her curly brown hair, fair skin, heart shaped face, she was so beautiful.

I was about to walk away from the cornucopia completely when I heard a soft voice moan "Help."

I turned and saw the girl's blue eyes had shifted so they were focused on me.

"Please." Escaped her mouth.

I leaned down next to her and put my ear up to her chest. A faint heartbeat could be heard.

I looked into her eyes. Even though they were bloodshot, they were still so beautiful.

I looked at her stomach and saw a knife stuck into her skin.

Stomach stab. I am surprised she made it this far.

I didn't know what to do.

All of the sudden, a small silver canister floated down from the sky. Sponsors.

I opened it and found a note and a jar of salve.

'Save our Wendy' The note read. There was also another note with instructions for getting the knife out.

I followed them carefully and got it out. There was also a needle and thread along with another set of instructions.

I was slowly sewing her stomach when I saw Tink come running out of the trees.

She had a puzzled look on her face when she saw me tending to Wendy's wounds.

"Just leave her. She's dead already." She said.

"No. She can be saved. This is a sponsor gift. Asking me to save her. I have to save her. Who knows how many more sponsor gifts will come." I went back to sewing her stomach.

"She is just holding us back." Tink protested.

I looked at her. "I'm sorry I'm holding you back."

There was shock and hurt on her face.

She bent down.

"What can I do to help?"

"Be look out." She stood up and readied her sword.

I had been working for about five minutes when Tink said, "Peter, hurry. We have to get out of here."

"Why?"

"Rustling. In the trees."

"I'm almost done."

"Now Peter!"

I looked up and saw the careers running at us.

Tink quickly packed up the canister and stuck it in her backpack.

I lifted Wendy up and held her in my arms.

"Peter! We have to leave her! It is too risky!"

"No!"

I started running. She wasn't very heavy, but I wasn't very strong.

Tink ran after me. We ran into the woods again and ran until we couldn't run anymore.

"They're......gone." She puffed.

I set down Wendy and laid on the ground. Tink laid next to me.

Our arms were brushing up against each other.

All of a sudden, Tinkerbell's hand snaked into mine.

***

I do not know how nor know if you can sew a stomach let alone a fourteen year old boy can do it without gauze, blood, saline, etc. Going on pure guessing and my sense. Forgive me if any of you are doctors and are screaming at me for misinformation. Honestly, I don't even think Preston Burke himself can save this girl.

Don't forget to vote and comment what you thought!

Love ya!
