Chapter 245: Midterms V

The battle itself was quite even from the  very start, neither of the sides were backing down as they exchanged blow per blow with their respective magic. Not one of them had even revealed their trump card for this battle, but despite that, the battle itself was intense as it ever was.

As a person who had an in field experience in fighting against dangerous people who kill without hesitation, Cedric himself showcased how capable he was in terms of combat. He showcased his quick thinking, reflexes, and even battle sense that even put professor Nico in to a shock, due to how efficiently Cedric use his magic in every possible situation.

This is all thanks to the fact that he had fought a high ranking opponent back in the kingdom of Avalon. In that situation of life and death, Cedric had discarded any unnecessary action, as he used his magic and battle experience in a way that is quite unique to his own but also efficient enough to suppress an enemy.

With that said, Professor Nico was slowly being pushed back by Cedric, as he got overwhelmed b y Cedric in the initial clashes. However, Cedric wasn't the only one who had an abundant of experience in battle outside the safety premises of the academy. As a person with history, professor Nico is also a type of person who had an abundant of battle experience far more many and intense than what Cedric had experienced.

If one had to say for professor Nico, Cedric's prowess in combat is like a child who had just started his journey in comparison to his battle ridden history. Nevertheless as the crown prince of the kingdom that he currently served, he naturally had to show respect as he followed along the momentum of the battle.

After for what seems like continuous spree, professor Nico then broke out of Cedric's combo as he began retaliating in earnest and even pushed back the latter for quite a few blocks back. But the moment Cedric distanced himself away from professor Nico and begun using ranged magic projectiles, the professor himself then suddenly umped his speed, as he literally disappeared in his spot and landed beside Ceric in just a blink of an eye.

The professor's movement was too fast that it even shocked Shun as his eyes weren't even able to follow such movement. At one point professor Nico himself had just knocked away Cedric and the next second the professor himself had appeared beside his opponent and sucker punched him down to the ground.

While the crowd itself was shocked by this kind of speed that had been displayed, Cedric on the other hand  felt pain on the back of his head, as he crashed to the ground face first, and somewhat broke his nose in the process. But that [pain alone wasn't able to deter his will to fight, as he quickly recovered and even counter slash towards professor Nico in hopes that he would jump away.

However his expectations easily betrayed him, as professor Nico dodged his counter slash and begun doing his combo against him, causing even his defense on his body to be destroyed. Once his barrier was destroyed, professor Nico begun casting magic barrage towards him, which enclosed him inside a bombardment and downed him once more.

The bombardment itself was so fierce that it even made he other professor present in the area, quite worried to the state of the crown prince of the kingdom. After all no matter what situation they are in, one must not forget that Cedric is the future king of this kingdom and if per chance an accident happened to the crown prince inside the academy which endangered his life, then the Gritonnia academy would take a huge blow and even endanger its existence. That's just how sensitive this battle is.

 After  awhile when the smoke that came from the bombardment had finally cleared, Cedric could be seen still standing up despite  the bombardment, as his whole state was complete ragged all over and injuries literally covered his whole body. But despite that he was still able to protect his vital parts, as he stood still and somewhat looking determined for another round.

Unfortunately this was not a battle to the death scenario wherein the student can grow in the amidst of the battle, but instead this is a situation wherein the students prowess in combat are tested to the stretch and find out how one can survive in such a precarious situation. Since that was the case, one of the professor that had been spectating the match, quickly raised up its hand and announced the end of Cedric's test, after all throughout the battle, 10 minutes had already passed which qualified Cedric for a passing grade.

"The time is up! Cedric Gallahad please return to the stand and tend your injuries"

Hearing the words of another professor declaring the end of his test, Cedric then stood up straight, as he bowed down in respect to wards professor Nico, before leaving the site.

The battle following that became somewhat mediocre in comparison to Cedric's, as students tried their hardest to get a passing grade in this physical test. In fact even Wendy was struggling just to survive the 10 minutes against the opposing professor. As for the exchange students, they somehow showed quite a promise as all of them managed to stand firm and get a passing mark for their battle prowess.

It didn't take long for the Class A to finish their set. Once all the students in class A had finished their evaluation, it was then now time for Class B to take the stage. Upon realizing that, all the students in Class B were dreaded in worry as they felt pressure coming all over, headed towards their direction.

Since Class A was able to put up quite a fight against the professors, it was naturally normal for the other spectators to have high expectations towards Class B students, since their level is not that quite far in comparison to Class A. With that in mind, one can even find Shun's classmates fiddling their thumbs and even reciting a type of chant in order to calm themselves down.

Even Sephiria and Aria are also nervous since everyone's attention was directed towards them.

At last when a professor took it stand in the stadium, everyone then turned silent, as they all waited for its announcement for everyone.

"Alright! now its time to start for the evaluation of the class b students, the first student that will be called to the arena..."

"........"

"Shun Kurosaki!!!"

In that moment everyone was surprised that Shun's name was called out, as everyone didn't expect that his name would come out first among the list of random selection. But nevertheless since his name was called out, Shun then entered the arena with an intent to get a full marks on this test.

"Now for the professor that will handling him in this match.... It's professor Nico!!!"

Hearing the professor's name, another round of cheer rose up, as they recognized just how strong professor Nico is. This battle was a battle between a combat expert professor and a champion from the six academies competition. based on what everyone expect, this fight would be something to look forward to.
