(Better Than Words By One Direction)

Karl's Pov

"Cora! Stop! You can't leave yet!" Cara yelled at her sister, as Cora rushed around the house packing things.

"I'm sorry, Cara. I really am. Believe me, but I have to do this." Cora said, looking at her sister.

"Karl, do something about this! Make her stay!" Cara turned to me and now yelled at me.

I stood there with my hands in my pockets, not knowing what to do as everyone stared at me. Cora ran upstairs, going to grab her bag, and everyone stared at me.

"What!" I whisper-yelled and I could see the anger on Cara's face.

"Please make her stay." Cara said, and Chandler wrapped his arms around her trying to comfort her.

"She's not going to listen-"

"At least try." Chandler spoke, not taking his eyes off of his wife.

I let out a sigh before starting to walk up the stairs. Her bedroom door wide open, causing me to stand in the doorway.

"Cora?" I called out, slowly entering her room. The bathroom door swung open, and she stuffed her old clothes into her bag.

"Yeah?" She looked up at me, stopping what she was doing for a second.

"Do you have to go?" I asked before she let out a breath.

"I need to. When work calls, I answer. No matter where I am, I will show up, even when my life is falling apart." Cora's eyes met the floor and I felt my heart stop.

"What can I do to help?"

"Nothing. I've got to do this." She shrugged, but kept her eyes on the floor.

"What can I say to make you stay?" I asked, looking at her, while she stared at anything but me.

"No words can make me stay. I have to go. When someone calls for my help, I show up." She said once more and I knew exactly what I had to do.

What is better than words?

"Okay. When are we leaving?"

Actions.

"We?" She looked up at me and I pulled my phone out.

"When's your flight? I'm buying a ticket. You know what, just give me your phone, I'll sort it all out-" I grabbed her phone and sat on the chair in front of her desk, and started going through my phone.

She stood in the same spot, not moving. She stood there, standing there, staring at me with her mouth hung open. It made me smile.

I think it's time I start showing Cora how much I still love and care, instead of telling her how much I still love and care about her. I bought the ticket within record speed, sitting in the row across the aisle from her.

"You don't have to come. Seriously, it's totally okay!" She rushed out as i grabbed her bag, and started walking down the stairs.

"Is she staying?" Cara asked and i looked at them.

"No." I responded short, walking out of the house and getting into my car.

Cora ran out the front door, a giant smile taking over her face as she got into the passenger's seat of my car, masking the smile on her face. Chandler and Cara ran outside of the house as I reversed the car.

"Did you not tell them goodbye?" I asked her and she looked out of the window.

"No, I didn't." She spoke, laughter bubbling in her body as she turned to look at me.

I missed our car rides.

She smiled as she stared at me as I drove.

I missed her smile.

She laughed as her phone blew up with text messages.

I missed her laugh.

She rolled the window down, putting her hand out of it.

I missed the wind in her hair.

I turned the radio up, and she started singing along.

I missed her singing.

She grabbed her phone, typing away on it as we pulled up to the airport. I parked my car, and got out with her. I'd get clothes wherever the hell we were going. All I know, I want to be right here, with Cora Davis right by my side.

I missed her.

The rain was pouring down, as I grabbed her bag from the backseat.

"Are you Ready To Run?" She asked me, cocking her head in a challenging way.

"I'm always ready to run."

As soon as we were fully out of the car, and overhang, we both started to run into the airport. The rain poured down on us, hitting us at fast speeds from how quick we were running.

I grabbed her hand, making her run quicker as she laughed. Her laughter kept me going. I haven't run like this since I last played soccer, but hearing her laugh made me not tired. I felt like a kid again.

A lovesick teenager with my girlfriend.

"Karl!" She laughed out while I pushed her lightly in the door, getting us both out of the rain.

Nothing will ever compare to the way Cora Davis makes me feel.
