One month has passed since the events of Order 66, the squad was starting to settle into their new life. A gargled communication comes through the comms room. It was a rebel cell trying to make contact to recruit or possibly ally with other cells as it repeats. Jinx tried to track the message, the message cordinates were on dathomir as it only seemed to repeat it. It wasn't a live message being sent in.
Spirit walked into the communications room with Pip in his arms.
"What's going on Jinx?" Spirit asked.
"I'm getting a weird message..." Jinx responded.
Jinx played the message so Spirit could hear.
"It's repeating.... something is off.. we should go figure out what's going on." Spirit said.
Pip mewed and climbed onto Spirit's shoulder as the message would continue as it seems to get more garbeled until evening cutting out it would be odd but a curiousity of the fact a rebel cell is on such an abandoned planet.
"That's odd.. were you able to track it Jinx?" Spirit asked.
"To the planet of Dathomir." Jinx replied.
"So what are we waiting for, they need our help!" Spirit exclaimed.
"You think we should go?" Jinx asked.
"Definitely." Spirit urged.
"But why? We don't know these people, it could be a trap." Jinx cautioned.
"But what if it's not, what if they need help!" Spirit argued.
"Ok, what if your right and we go. What then?" Jinx asked skeptically.
"We help them." Spirit said.
"Just the two of us?" Jinx asked.
"Why not, you have to admit we are the least likely to hurt anyone that doesn't deserve to be hurt." Spirit pressed.
"We shouldn't go Spirit." Jinx commented.
"But they could die if we don't!" Spirit argued.
Jinx sighed and looked away just as Volta entered the room.
"Jinx! Please, wouldn't you send out a search party of one of us went missing and sent out a distress like that?!" Spirit pleaded.
"Jinx I heard the message you and Spirit will go due to the fact we could use somewhere further from the imperial empire we could go as the night brothers also the fact they can provide more supplies than we can get our hands on plus it is a heavy force planet so Cariko can train there more effectively." Volta stated.
Spirit looked at Volta.
"Plus yes, Dathomir has a small garrison but it'll be easier to sit and ambush them." Volta said.
"Alright, alright! But if this is a trap then that's on you both!" Jinx shouted before sighing and shaking his head.
"I'll take blame I have been speaking with them back and forth for about a week." Volta admitted.
"Then why didn't we go to them sooner?" Spirit asked calmly.
"What!? Are you crazy!?" Jinx hollered.
"They had been skeptical of us as they needed to confirm we were not just imperials." Volta clarified.
"Do you have any idea how much this puts us at risk?" Jinx asked.
"Jinx calm down." Spirit stated.
"I am more than aware of the risk Jinx, take the gunship." Volta said nonchalantly.
Jinx shook his head storming off to the gunship.
"How did they let a lunatic like you off kamino?" Jinx grumbled.
"Jinx who says I am even a clone to begin with?" Volta sneered as he smacked Jinx in the back of the head.
Jinx ignored it and kept walking. Spirit followed Jinx and snickered.
"Saw that one coming Jinx gotten enough of those to know not to mess with Volta." Spirit smirked.
"Just shut up and get in the gunship." Jinx mumbled.
Jinx got into the cockpit and Spirit got into the gunship. The gunship began to lift off and head to its destination. As they arrived at Dathomir and entered the atmosphere they began to get close to the signal of the communication. Jinx landed the gunship near the signal's origin.
Pip poked his head up from behind Spirit and mewed. The two clones saw a large fortified camp that sounded like there is activity within.
"Why did you bring that furball again?" Jinx asked annoyed.
"He doesn't trust anyone besides me as of now." Spirit replied.
Jinx rolled his eyes and got off the gunship.
"What, I'll make sure he doesn't leave the ship." Spirit said.
"Fine." Jinx sighed.
"Don't act like you don't like Pip Squeak." Spirit jeered.
Jinx shot a death glare at Spirit. Spirit rolled his eyes as Pip swished his tail.
"Just leave him in the ship." Jinx ordered.
"Alright that was the plan anyway." Spirit stated.
The camp ahead seemed to not notice their presence. As the two entered the camp, it seemed eerily quiet even though from the outside it appeared to be bustling, no one seemed to be outside. A shadow moves quickly from their perfiual sight.
Spirit quickly looked in the direction of the shadow.
"Hello? Anyone there?" Spirit called out.
Even though the shadow was gone, but a terrible smell seemed to grow stronger the further they walked into the camp. Both Spirit and Jinx recoiled at the putrid odor. Screams and blaster fire echo from the camp as loud howls can be heard along with what sounds like chanting and screeching.
Both Jinx and Spirit unholstered their blasters.
"What the hell..." Spirit muttered.
"I told you coming here was bad." Jinx said. As he locked around aiming his blaster.
Spirit shot a glare at Jinx.
"Let's just get back to the ship." Jinx sneered.
Just as they got back to the ship the chanting stopped plunging the planet into silence.
