I heard a knock but ignored it, and Shivank nudged me. "Please go," he pleaded softly. I groaned, "No! I'm not wearing any clothes!"
"It's my birthday, na. Please," he gave me that irresistible puppy face. I sighed in defeat, getting up slowly. Just as I moved, he pulled me back and kissed my lips, whispering a low "Thank you" before wrapping himself up in the blanket.
I grabbed my top, which was under him, and he watched me change with those intense eyes, making my face flush. I couldn't help but blush harder when he threw me a cheeky wink. I quickly kissed his cheek and ran outside, my heart racing.
When I opened the door, it was Dev, looking all flustered as he slipped inside. "Vaani bro, jaldi nikalna padega! Humare pariwaar ko aise-taise-phasa kar bhaag aaya hoon," he said, barely catching his breath.
"Oh my god! Chal, Shivank ko bolte hai," I said, starting to head back, but Dev grabbed my arm. "No! If you tell him, he'll find a way to keep you here. Uske paas koi plan hamesha hota hai, aur humare paas utna waqt nahi hai. I'll handle him, tu bas chal," he insisted, dragging me back into the room. Thankfully, Shivank was still covered completely under the blanket.
We scrambled to pack my things in a hurry. "Just one hug before I go?" I asked, my voice pleading, but Dev shot me down like a strict elder brother. He pulled me out, and I couldn't help but glance back sadly at Shivank as Dev hurried me away.
"Kisi ko janti ho yahan?" he asked, while we practically sprinted down the hall.
"Haan, Unnati aur Manav... wo room wahan," I pointed ahead. We rushed to the door and knocked like maniacs until Unnati and Manav finally opened up, looking startled.
"Kya ho raha hai? Aur yeh kaun hai?" Manav asked, confused. "Baitho, mai batati hoon!" I said, pushing them inside as Dev followed closely.
I collapsed onto the sofa, exhausted, while Dev anxiously watched the door. "Aa gaya humara pariwaar," he muttered, quickly shutting it before sliding to the floor in relief. "Aisa lag raha hai, hum bhag rahe hain kisi crime scene se, you know crime patrol wali bhabhi-devar vibes." he chuckled, trying to lighten the mood.
