As the morning chirped outside, the laughter of children filled the air as they enjoyed their weekend, playing around the streets. It was around 10 AM when Shivank stirred in his sleep hesring the voices, his arm tightening around Vaani, pulling her closer. He snuggled into her warmth, pressing his cheek against hers. She opened her eyes, sighing as she looked at his peaceful face. But he only stirred again, his grip firm, burying himself into her as if he couldn't get enough, like a baby seeking comfort.
She looked at their state and took a deep breath. She didn't feel uncomfortable, yet there was an unfamiliar uneasiness in her chest, like she was falling into a void. Was it because she had lost her memory? Maybe.
Shrugging off her thoughts, she carefully moved his arms away and slipped out of bed. She padded to the bathroom and flicked on the light.
Two weeks.
Two weeks in this house, and yet, it still didn't feel like hers. Everything belonged to Vaani, but not her.
