Vaani exploded. "Because I'm sitting at home, Shivank! Tension builds up when I sit and wonder if you even love me. Or is this just physical? What if you leave me? How will I survive? I needed work to distract myself from these thoughts, but you're being so selfish and unconsidered!"
He splashed water on his face, trying to cool down, to dodge the painful thoughts which were knitting his head, when he heard her voice from behind.
"You don't need this."
His bloodshot eyes met hers through the mirror. She was fuming, anger practically radiating from her while his eyes looked defeated, devastated.
"Vaani, I don't want to fight," he whispered, his voice came broken, just loud enough for her to hear. Turning off the tap, he rubbed his temples, exhausted.
But she wasn't done. She grabbed his hand and dragged him under the shower.
"Vaan—"
Before he could finish, a burst of cold water hit him. He shut his eyes, shivering, until he felt her hands on his collar.
"Aapko lagta hai mai aapki respect nahi karti? Aapse pyaar nahi karti? Aapki parwah nahi hai mujhe? Mere paas sirf aap ho, Shivank. Aapke alawa koi nahi hai. Kis ke saamne karungi nakhre? Watchman ke paas jakar?" she spat in frustration, before shoving him slightly away.
He sighed, then gently pulled her closer by the waist. "I'm sorry," he whispered, wiping the tears that were streaming down her cheeks. "Purani yaadein bahut khanak rahi thi... I just want my wife to love me and understand me."
