Lena's POV

I racked my brain trying to figure out how to solve this stupid riddle. I was always good at these things, why am I struggling so badly?

" Guys!" Tyler shouted at us. " I think I've figured it out." He told us.

" Well then explain." I said itching for what he had to say.

" The darkest place you once called home. Think about it." He paced for a while and then began to speak again. "When you got back from the camp what did it feel like when you first got home?" He asked us.

" It felt...unusual." Mikell replied.

" Yeah. Like it wasn't my safe house anymore." I added.

" Exactly. So your home can't be classified as your home anymore, right. It once was, yes, but it was probably never filled with darkness. This place, however, is our home now. They can't be talking about here. Now think of any other place you ever called home and was filled with evil and darkness."

We all thought for a moment.

The camp. It was once a home to all of us. Though full of despair and pain, that was only place we had left. If you could afford to pay to get out then you didn't have to worry about it, but not many people could afford to get out. It was not only a prison, but the only place we had.

" The camp." I answered looking up from my sudden thoughts.

" Right." Tyler said pleased with himself. He kneeled next to Tina and grinned widely. " How do you feel now?" She grimaced at him and looked away.

" Are you going to kill me now?" She asked lifting her head to meet his eyes.

For a second it seemed as if he hesitated, but he couldn't have. He seemed to be searching for something in her tone. He cocked his head to the side and shook it.

" It all depends."

" I have something to say." She painfully stood and took in a deep breath. " I'm not a twin. In fact, we aren't even real." She closed her eyes and let her head fall.

We all shared a look of confusion. " What do mean you aren't 'real'?" Tonya asked in bewilderment.

" We're clones." She answered. " Failed clones to be exact." She quickly added.

" From who?" Kendal asked.

" Christina."

" Why would she clone herself?" Mikell asked.

" I don't know."

" How come you don't look at all like her?" Danielle asked crossing his arms.

" They don't call us failed clones for nothing. Some of us failed, some didn't. Chrissy is failed because she doesn't look like Christina, I am failed because I don't look like her and hold more intellectual ability. I have seperate thoughts from her and have different emotions." She explained.

" You're basically an entirely different person." I said shocked.

" Christina made a whole army of us and those of us who failed are either kept undercover or destroyed. Clones like me are normally destroyed, but in our case she kept us because she wanted us undercover."

" You said you held separate thoughts and emotions, does that mean you don't want to completely take over the world?" Danielle asked looking at us as if he just figured something out.

" Of course." She said with a sigh of relief. " Look, I know you guys don't trust me, but what I said I had to do. Chrissy would've told Christina and she would have killed me. Please," She begged. " I'm not asking you guys to befriend me, I'm asking you to tell Chrissy that you guys killed me."

" You want us to tell her that you're dead?" Tonya asked knitting her eyebrows.

" Yes." She wrung her hands and picked at her nails. Nervous habits.

" Or, uh," I looked at everyone and sighed. " You can stay here, in the compound." Everyone looked at me, some angry, some frustrated.

Tina's face lit up as she smiled. " Really? You would do that?" She asked in excitement.

" No." Kendal barked and pulled me to the side. I rolled my eyes and let him drag me to the end hall. " What is wrong with you?" He asks me.

" Nothing. She needs help."

" She's a liar and can't be trusted. You will not let her stay if I have a say in this."

" Nobody ever said you did."
He looked hurt by words, but he knew I didn't I mean them. Right?

" Fine. I'm out. I'm done." He started to walk away, but I grabbed his hand and pulled him back.

" You aren't going anywhere."

" I will if she stays."

" Do you honestly think that I trust her?" I said turning his head to face me. " Do you really think I would put everyone in danger like that?" I yelled in a whisper.

" No."

" Right. If we let her leave what are the odds she goes and finds the rest of her gang and tells them where we are?" I ask crossing my arms. I raise my eyebrows when he says nothing and then I shake my head. " Exactly. She stays." I began to walk away when he calls my name.

" Lena." I turn and look at him.

" Yeah?"

He hesitates before speaking again. " We're friends, right?"

I raise my eyebrows in confusion. " Of course we are. Why would you ask?" I turned around to make sure I heard him clearly.

He scratched at his head awkwardly. I furrowed my brow as I watched him. He was keeping something. I know it. I really wanted to ask him about his parents, it I figured now was not a good time.

" Oh, uh, no reason. I was just wondering." He explained.

That was crap.

You see the thing is about me. Is that you can't screw me over. I see right through people's lies and misconception's. I am misunderstood sometimes. People think that I'm just some freak that is oblivious of what's going on, that's where they're wrong. I see everything. I take note of everything. You may lie and cheat, but I always see right through it. I see through lies and deceit. Just like I see through his words.

" Just tell me." I say walking back to where I once stood.

" It's nothing. Really. I was just asking." He smiled deceitfully.

" Kendal," I smiled and stepped closer to him so that out faces were arms length away. " Don't ever lie to me."

With that being said I began to follow the others to the safe, leaving him behind with a choice to make.
