Lena's POV
"No. No. No." I cry.
Kendal looked at his wound shockingly. His hands rested on the branch that pierced through his chest.
Rami threw him against a tree. A tree with sharp branches. He hit the dead center of one!
" Lena, you have to know I didn't do it on purpose." Rami begs.
" Help me get him down! We have to snap the branch." I say. Rami hurries over here and holds Kendal up so I could snap the branch.
" You're gonna be okay. You'll be okay." I tell him. Though it was more for me than him.
I grunt as I struggle to break the branch. In eventually snapped under my pressure and Kendal fell. With Rami and I keeping him up he staggered to curb.
" Stay with me, okay? " I say forcing him to look at me. " I need you Kendal. I need you so much right now." Tears streamed down my face as I gently touched his.
" Lena, I love you, okay." He painfully swallowed and looked at me. " I want you to love again and to be happy." He breathed.
" No, I-I won't, I can't. Please, please no. Kendal." I cry. I sink to my knees and gently lay his head on the ground. I sob quietly onto my hands. I almost missed the car that passed by.
It's brakes screeched as it stopped. A man stepped out of the drivers side and came around to us.
" What the hell?" He says as he looks at us.
" Can you help us? Please, please we have to get out of here." I beg.
" Yeah, I can. Come on." He says not taking his eyes off of Kendal's lifeless body.
" Rami, help me get Jackson." I say mindlessly moving in his direction. She and I lift him up and walk to the white Pathfinder. We help him in the farthest backseat and Rami and I sit in this seats in front of him.
The man gets back in and drives away. Not bothering to deal with Kendal's body. He just took off as I gave one last glance at him.
" What happened back there? Who, who was that guy. The dead one." He asks.
" My boyfriend." I answer starting out the window.
" What happened to that guy? Why are you all out here? Why are you running?" He asks.
" We'll explain on the way. Can you take us back to Jackson?" I say angrily.
" I have to get you all to a hospital. There's no telling what's wrong with you all."
" No." Jackson shouts wincing at his movements. " You can't do that."
" And why not?" He yells at us.
" Just because you can't. Just go to Jackson." His words were said unevenly and it scared me.
" Okay, look. Have you heard of Specials?" I ask tapping his shoulder so he would look at me.
" Of course."
I sigh regretting what I was about to do. " We're Specials. We were on a mission and the camp back blew up. Jackson, the guy back there was in the explosion, but only to save her, Rami. She got upset and threw Kendal, the guy back there, up against a tree and he was stabbed by a branch. Does that answer your question?" I say irritated.
" You guys are Specials?" He asks turning a corner onto the interstate.
" Yeah we are. I take it you're human?" Jackson asks.
