The news of Jennie's marriage to the new CEO of Manoban Corporation filled the headlines for the next several days. Her office had been bombarded with invitations for interviews and several media personnel camped out in front of Bluemedia's headquarters, hoping to get a glimpse of the latest power couple in the country.

However, their attempts were in vain because Jennie hadn't been able to leave the ancestral Manoban estate where she was now living with her husband, as the symptoms of her pregnancy had been keeping her from leaving.

Jennie was hovering over the sink inside the bathroom, throwing up the contents of her stomach. The delicious food she had eaten that morning was now being flushed down the drain and only the bitterness of the bile was left in her mouth.

"Should I give the Master a call and inform him of what's happening?" Seulgi asked as she pulled Jennie's hair away from her face as her mistress struggled to stay on her feet.

Jennie shook her head and gargled water to remove the nasty bitterness from her mouth. She had never experienced any of these when she fell pregnant in her previous life, but thought that maybe it was because Taehyung didn't give her a chance to experience it as he had forced her to abort her pregnancy as soon as he found out.

"There's no need. Rosé should be arriving soon. It's nothing to worry about, Seulgi, but thank you for your concern."

Seulgi smiled and helped her mistress return to the bed and checked her temperature according to Rosé's instructions. As Jennie's pregnancy progressed, the poison in her bloodstream started to react to the sudden spike of her hormones, giving her mild fevers and chills that was enough to send her husband into a state of panic.

This was why she would rather wait for her best friend's return instead of informing Lisa of her current condition. Unlike her, Lisa wouldn't be able to take any leave from work since he had just assumed the highest position in their company. It would be difficult for him to be there and take care of her himself.

She fell asleep before Rosé arrived with Hyo Joo.

"How is she?" Rosé asked Seulgi as soon as she entered her best friend's bedroom. Her heart ached seeing the slight paleness on Jennie's complexion.

"She kept throwing up and couldn't keep anything in." Seulgi sighed, glancing at her mistress worriedly. She had brought home the documents that Jennie needed to see, but as soon as she saw her mistress making a beeline to the bathroom again, she knew that the paperwork would need to wait.

"It's normal, Miss Kang. As long as there isn't any blood leaving her body, there's no need to panic." Hyo Joo said, before taking a seat next to the chair by the bed and checking Jennie's heartbeat.

"How is it?"

She was slightly relieved when Lisa told her that Hyo Joo would be helping them look after Jennie. There's a limit to what she could do to help her best friend and having Hyo Joo, who was more familiar with the cold poison, meant that they were closer to finding the remedy for Jennie's illness.

"A little faster than normal. Both her pregnancy and the poison could do that. I'll brew something that could help her calm her upset stomach. This may persist for another week or two, so we better make sure that we replenish the nutrients she isn't able to take on her own."

Rosé nodded in agreement. Han Zijun had said the same thing and told her that he would leave the pregnancy matters to Hyo Joo while he continued to formulate the antidote. Rosé thought that he might have willingly stepped back, knowing that Lisa wasn't comfortable having a man look after his wife. They all know how possessive that tyrant was.
