Chapter 265: Fatherhood

Despite Irene's callous words, Lisa could see in her eyes that she cared about his wife. If there was something he was sure of, it's the fact that Irene still held her child in her heart, regardless of what she said. She wouldn't have bothered to come here if she wasn't worried about her daughter.

Lisa took a seat next to Hye Kyo, hands clasped together as they waited. He wanted to go inside the delivery room, but he didn't quite trust himself to witness Jennie in a state of bloody mess. The only reason he wasn't panicking now was because Rosé promised to be there by his wife's side.

However, every second that they didn't hear anything or see someone leave the room felt like an eternity. Lisa had always prided himself as a man with great patience, but this time, every inch of his body wanted him to go inside to assure himself that his wife was still alive.

As they waited in the hallway, his brothers arrived with Suzy and Shen Jao in tow. Both women gave him a greeting before they moved on to Hye Kyo and Jun Ho.

"What are you doing here?" Lisa asked as Song Yiran hooked an arm around his shoulder, dragging him away from the women. He wasn't expecting them all to be here.

"We came here to show our support. How could you leave us out today? If Jisoo hadn't told us what was happening, we would've been oblivious for the second time." Jin Young replied, eyeing the closed doors of the OR. "So how's Big Sister?"

"We haven't heard any update from Brother Han yet. Rosé is still with them." Lisa answered. Having his brothers here with him somehow lessened his worries.

"Jennie is delivering the twins too early. Is everything alright?" Song Yiran asked him this time.

"I'm not sure myself, but Brother Han insisted that the twins need to be delivered now or they might face serious complications later."

As soon as he answered Song Yiran, the doors opened and two nurses came out pushing two incubators with Rosé following after them. She was still dressed in her scrubs and a blue mask on her face, hair tied behind her. Everyone rushed to see the babies.

"Oh my goodness. They are so tiny!" Suzy murmured next to her boyfriend as Jackson held her hand.

Hye Kyo agreed with the actress. She wanted to hold her grandchildren, but she knew that they needed to be transferred to the NICU. The twins needed to stay inside the incubator to survive outside their mother's womb—because they were born prematurely.

"The elder one is this little one here." Rosé said, pointing at the larger one between the twins.

"We got them, Lisa. Now, you need to be strong for Jennie and these two."

Lisa gave her a curt nod, hands clenching hard on his sides. He knew Jennie needed him to be their pillar.

Meanwhile, Irene remained mum and only stared at the pair of twins. It briefly reminded her of the time she gave birth to her daughter. She also gave birth to her daughter prematurely and she remembered Jennie being so tiny by the time the nurse handed her baby to her.

"Congratulations for being a daddy!" Song Yiran exclaimed, giving Lisa a pat on his shoulder.

Lisa remained silent, but his eyes never left his daughters. As soon as his eyes landed on them, the air in his lungs disappeared. As he looked at them, his heart felt like it wanted to burst from so much joy.

What Suzy said was true. They were too tiny.. However, even if he wanted them to grow for another week inside his wife, it would only make their situation more difficult than it already was.
