Something had changed between Jennie and Lisa's relationship since then, and it was quite obvious to those who were close to them, especially to Hye Kyo. Her daughter had come down later than usual that morning, while Lisa had been unusually silent during their breakfast and couldn't meet her gaze.
Even when her daughter came to join them for breakfast, her words were really scarce, as if she would rather be somewhere else than here, sharing a table and a meal with Lisa. Hye Kyo looked at the two, wondering what had happened for them to act this way.
Lisa was the first one to finish his breakfast and bid goodbye to her. He then stood up and hesitated for a moment, kissing Jennie's forehead before leaving to start his long day.
Jennie only lowered her head and didn't say anything to him, making her mother more curious about them. There was no doubt that something happened between the two that caused this awkward atmosphere this morning. Hye Kyo couldn't be wrong, as she knew that her daughter and Lisa weren't like this last night.
"Jennie, did you and Lisa have a fight? You are about to get married. Are you sure you want to go through with it?" Hye Kyo couldn't help but question her daughter.
Jennie was obviously taken aback by her mother's question as she dropped the dumpling she was eating back on her bowl. She almost choked from surprise and quickly reached for the cup of water near her.
With what happened between her and Lisa last night, all her shyness had returned in full force that morning. She didn't know where she got the courage to seduce Lisa last night, and didn't think she would be able to forget how amazing he made her feel.
He was certainly grown up and wasn't the same little boy who used to follow her around. And now that they were about to get married and start a new life as husband and wife, Jennie was starting to feel a kind of nervousness and anticipation she hadn't felt in a very long time.
"We're fine, Mama. Just trying to get used to the sudden changes, but we'll be fine." She said, hoping that her mother wasn't able to see the blush that was creeping on her face.
Jennie didn't know how she would face her mother if Hye Kyo knew just how far she and Lisa had gone, considering how very new their relationship was.
She had woken up before Lisa and had sneaked out of his room, returning to her own to freshen up, only to see her torso laced with dark hickeys. For this reason, she had chosen to wear a high collar blouse today to hide the remnants of their passion from last night.
Hye Kyo nodded and didn't try to probe her daughter with additional questions. If things were still good between them, then there's no need to worry about calling off the wedding at all.
"Mama, I already talked to Lisa about your suggestion. We agreed to free our time tomorrow afternoon. Would this suffice for the plans you have in mind?" Jennie asked, hoping that her mother would drop her inquiries about her and Lisa.
Hye Kyo's face immediately lit up at Jennie's words. Since this was a once in a lifetime event in her daughter's life, she wanted to make it as beautiful and as memorable as possible.
"It's more than enough, Jennie. Just… just give me a minute, okay? I need to inform them that you and Lisa will be coming together tomorrow." She excitedly stood up from her seat as she quickly made a phone call outside.
Jennie watched her mother go outside, noticing that her body was losing considerable weight compared to last month. She didn't need to know that this was the after effect of her mother's illness, just like what her doctor told them on what to expect as time passed.
With only a few days left before her wedding, her mother had been spending her time and attention on it. It made Jennie feel a bit guilty since she couldn't help her mother at all. Her work at Bluemedia was keeping her busy, while Lisa could barely balance his time.
