Misty's POV
You bring the fresh tea to Miranda as she just continues to stare off into space, a warm blanket was around her as she clutched it tightly, horror and fear dancing in her eyes. You walk up to her, your bare feet making no noise, until you reach her sitting on the sofa. You gently tap her shoulder and guide her hand to the tea cup, her fingers curling around the warm beverage as she guides it to her lap. You sat across from her and prop your feet up onto the sofa, tea cup in hand. You take a sip as Miranda narrows her eyes.
"How?" was all she asked
"How what dear?" you questioned, "You're gonna have to be more specific than that."
"I just don't understand," her eyebrows furrowed as she continued to spiral deeper into thought. "The demon, you being a witch. How the demon obeyed your commands. How have I not noticed you before? No one has ever slipped under my radar."
You sigh but nod your head.
"Well for starters demons exist all around us. I didn't actually summon that one from hell, if I did, the world would have ended. Second, I'm older than you by at least three centuries, so being a witch has its perks, especially with demons. And lastly I have wards for about a mile radius that prevents others from seeing me so easily, also Duke normally delivers my food, but he's away on business for about a week."
Miranda blinked in confusion and astonishment before her brain began working again.
"Wait, wait, wait-"
"I'm waiting." you sarcastically interrupt
She rolls her eyes before continuing.
"You said demons just exist all around us...all of the time?"
"Yes." you answered nonchalantly
"What kinds?" her eyes narrowed as she looked around the room
"Lots. Forest demons, water demons, demons that live in cities, towns, villages. There's a lot."
"Why can't we see them?"
Man this woman had a lot of questions
'You did say that you would answer all of her questions.' the voice suddenly popped in
You take a sip of tea as you regretfully answer her questions.
"They're on a different plane of existence. It's like a mirror image of our world, but darker and scarier. We can't see them and they can't see us. The only way to get into contact with one is through a ritual, like the one I did, although, like I said before, unless you speak perfect latin, I would advise that you'd never try it."
"So their world is exactly like ours?" she questioned, beginning to understand
"Yes, well except for all the bloodthirsty, soul ripping, fear inducing demons running around."
She rolled her eyes and finally took a sip of her tea.
'Jesus finally, I'd thought she'd never touch that drink.'
"Next questions." she demanded, her stern and dominating composure beginning to return as she sat up a little straighter.
It was amusing how, even after all that had happened today, she hadn't taken off her golden bird mask. Not once
