Misty's POV
After that intense issue resolved for now, you felt yourself slowly waking up. You groaned softly along with Miranda, who proceeded to wrap her arms tightly around you, causing you to snuggle back. It was a sweet, drowsy moment where you both were definitely not fully awake. You finally fully open your eyes, look up and Miranda looks down at the same time and you both freeze when you realize the position you're both in.
Your chin is in her cleavage and your faces are inches apart, both of you start to blush harshly and Miranda lets go and you pull away. You distract yourself by checking on the sleeping K, trying to spot any sign of corruption, thankfully there wasn't. Miranda glanced over at you and awkwardly got up, her wings shifting and resting on her back once more. She looked away to her kitchen and shifted around a bit, before sighing softly.*
"Would you like some...tea?"
She asked a bit timidly, yet still a bit stoic. You nodded and walked with her to the kitchen. It's odd. In her dream it was so gray and bleak, and even now the aura and vibe was bleaker and much more somber...it was as if the house itself was sad...or...maybe the person living in it was. You soon find yourself in the kitchen and awkwardly sit at the table while Miranda makes some tea.
You can see she's a bit shaky as well, her hands are twitching, but other than that she gives nothing away. Although there's silence in the room, it's not the usual awkward silence you both seemed to carry around...this was thoughtful silence. Your mind drifts off a bit and you reflect on what just happened.
K's demon is loose in the Void.
Miranda can Dreamwalk but might need help.
The demon can jump into dreams and twist them.
Miranda once had a husband...a child.
'Like you~'
That voice whispered in your mind. You shuttered and placed your palms over your eyes to rub them. You opened them again when the whistle of the tea kettle was blown and looked back at Miranda. She still had her back turned to you, but that was perfectly fine, you didn't know if you could face her right now.
"Do you want sugar or honey?"
She suddenly asked, snapping you out of your thoughts. She was so quiet, you almost didn't hear her, but then again, she must've been scared to break the silence and frankly you were too.
"A small spoon of sugar and a bit of honey please."
You muttered back before going back to your thoughts. After a moment Miranda sets a tea cup in front of you and you take a sip. It's the right amount of sweetness and you couldn't help but smile a bit. You weren't a fan of the original, bitter taste of tea, and instead aimed to make it just a hint sweeter. Miranda sits across from you and for a moment you both sit in the tense yet almost calming silence until she breaks it again.
"Will K be...alright?"
She asked with a hint of concern in her hushed whisper. You think for a moment. You truly weren't sure, K's demon was so...powerful. He could even drag Gale like it was nothing, and that's never a good sign.
"I thought so...but...I don't know anymore..."
You admitted softly, looking down at the table as you sipped the tea. Silence settles again and you could tell that Miranda wanted to keep talking. You did too, it's been two months and this is the first time you've interacted with her. Without seeing her and pestering her, life looked a bit dull. You saw her as a friend, but how long would that last? How long until you both circled back to that half kiss?
"Misty."
You draw your attention back to Miranda. Her voice was soft and calm, yet also with a slight undertone of nervousness.
"What...are we? Like what is this...relationship? Are we good?"
She questioned and you slowly sipped your tea before answering. You were still a bit angry with her ghosting you twice before and avoiding you for these past two months but...you just didn't want to let go. You'd missed her. Plain and simple.
"Yea."
You said softly with a small nod. You smiled a bit at the surge of happiness of waiting to be close to her again.
"We're good."
She held out her hand and gulped a bit.
"Friends?"
She asked a bit nervously and looked at you expectantly. You take her hand, ignoring the feelings rising within you and shake it.
"Yes...."
"Friends."
