Miranda's POV

"Climb on!"

You hesitated to grab Misty's hand, yet wanting to actually do something in this confusing situation, you take it. You climb onto the giant white owl with feathers oddly similar to Misty's when she grows them. As soon as you sit down, the owl takes off with such force it throws you backwards, but thankfully you immediately wrap your arms around Misty's waist, keeping yourself on. You looked around you and gasped softly at the endless pitch blackness, even looking back to see an icy blue orb, one that matched your eye color, that you'd just flew out of.

You then come to the sudden realization that this was K's demon you were chasing. That same demon that you vividly remember Misty trapping because it had thrown a vase at your head that day and narrowly missed and you had to save Misty from brain damage when she was nearly hit by a book. Either way, this made you incredibly frustrated that her spell didn't last, and if this has been going on right under her nose, then there's a problem.

"How in the hell did it escape?!"

You demanded to know, loosening your grip on Misty but not fully letting go. Despite this seemingly empty place, there was somehow a loud rush of wind that whipped your hair and forced you to speak louder for her to hear you.

"I think it was during the soloist!"

She yelled, the wind carrying her voice to your ears.

"Spirits draw closer to the mortal realm during that time and I think he was able to break out!"

You take note of that, understanding the reason it wouldn't be able to be contained. Even in the fast chase, you couldn't help but admire the giant owl, observing its face, wings, tail, feathers, and other features that your eyes wandered across.

"What's its name!?"

You asked, your voice a loud yell over the wind. While Misty was mainly focused on steering the owl, she still answered you, although with a bit of reluctance.

"Her name's Gale...!"

"Gale?!"

You said in slight confusion.

"Like your last name?!"

You could see her pause for a moment. It was as if there was something tied to her and the owl. Something that brought up bad memories.

"...Yes!"

Before anything else could be said. Gale suddenly made a hard right. You squeaked and grabbed Misty's waist again, clinging onto her. The owl grows ever closer to the demon and Misty uses her magic to lasso the demon, pulling it back harshly. It hisses in protest and starts pulling on the rope harder, dragging you faster than the owl could fly across the void. You could only watch as Misty and Gale struggled to hole the rest demon in place, feeling simply useless throughout the entire ordeal.

You let your gaze frantically wander the void, trying the seemingly pointless action of trying to find something to help. That's when you saw it, an icy blue eye, similar to your's, flying through the blackness at swift speeds. A black crow with six wings similar to your's flew beside you, its wings flapping gently and effortlessly as if the speed you were going at wasn't a bother for it. You felt as if you knew this creature, this creature that was somehow apart of you as you were apart of it.

"Cut it off..."

You whispered to the crow, commanding the bird to help you catch the demon. You pointed to the red demon and the crow dives down, its feather's making it disappear in the darkness. You could only see the faint outline before it rose up again, now as big as Gale, right in front of the demon. You gasped in disbelief and so did Misty as the demon roared angrily and stopped abruptly.

You crow is swift to pin the demon down with its talons as Gale lands in front of them. The demon squirms and thrashes around, yet despite its desperate attempts, it could not get away from the strong grip of the giant crow. Misty waist no time getting off her owl and throwing strings of magic at the demon, tying it up and leaving it to growl and bare its teeth.

"Can you send it back? Back to Hell?"

You asked with concern as you looked down at the very angry, thrashing demon.

"Not without killing K..."

She muttered in a somber tone and that pit in your stomach dropped. You could easily kill grown adults and experiment on them, you've done it many times now, but children. No matter how old, children have always had a soft spot in your heart, and K was no different.

"We'll figure something out."

You said softly and placed a hand on Misty's shoulder to reassure her and she untensed slightly.

"I hope so."

She mutters back as she traps the demon in a cocoon like state. Gale and the crow both return to a normal size, watching over the now dormant demon.

"We need to wake up."

Misty said softly and you looked at her. She let out an exhausted sigh and looked weary, at least she did here in this dream-like realm. You nodded in agreement and also gave a small sigh, also exhausted from this chase.

"See you when we wake up."

You muttered and she nodded with a soft smile. You closed your eyes and you suddenly felt like you were falling...

And falling...

Falling...
