I'm sorry for the extremely lacking updates ya'll. My mental health isn't doing so well and I needed a break. Updates will come when I have the time and energy to write and post a new chapter. I'm sorry for the slow updates but hope you all have a good day.

Varies POV

The wind whipped around you as you ran across your territory in the Shadow Realm. The lost souls you chased were soon caught and easily consumed. Per your deal with Misty, you helped keep the unwanted demons out of your land. You didn't hate Misty, she was actually a decent handler as far as witches come by. Not too strong and power hungry, yet not too weak to be consumed.

You ran until you came across strange giggles. You investigated and spotted three young mortal girls. They looked the same with the exception of their hair colors. One had red hair, another had black hair, and the last was a blondie. They giggled and frolicked about, but something was wrong about them, something not so...mortal about them.

You were about to jump at them and rip them to shreds when they suddenly burst into three swarms of flies. Upon seeing this you decide this is a human problem, you run to tell Misty what you had witnessed, not sure if these fly women were going to be a problem or not.

Misty's POV

You worked in your garden with K and Vallery today. You kept an eye on them as they talked and pulled weeds from the ground. You had a disturbing vision this morning, one where you were attacked by...something. At this point it could be anything. K's demon, someone in the village, a wild animal, it was starting to drive you insane.

"But you're already insane~" that voice giggled in your ear

You wanted to yell in frustration but decided against it, didn't need the entire world to know you're frustrated. A sudden cold air brushed against your back and you turned. No one was there...well, no one a normal person couldn't see.

"I'll be back girls!" you call out to the young girls

"I just need to get some more water!"

The girls nod and you pick up the watering can and walk to the side of the house where the well was. You fill up the watering can as a dangerous presents looms behind you.

"Varies. What do you need?" you asked without turning around

"There's someone in these woods."

Varies seemed to loom over you, her breath hitting the back of your neck. She wanted to see if she could smell the fear that wasn't present within you.

"Then deal with them."

"I would...but these mortals are different, they aren't...human."

You paused for a moment. Weren't human? Well that's new.

"Continue."

"They turn into masses of flies. They cackle at carnage. I do not believe a simple mortal can do that. I also do not think they are witches."

Not witches and can turn into flies?

"Thank you for informing me, Varies. I'll keep an eye out, as should you."

You say calmly before walking away with your filled water can. You could feel Varies disappearing again as you walked into your house through the back door.
