Misty's POV

The next day you roll out of bed and tiredly make your way downstairs. You walk into the kitchen and begin to make some breakfast, some scrambled eggs and toast would do nicely. You search in your cabinets and find some bread, moving to the freezer you try to find some butter and eggs, but to no avail. You groan and bang your head on the counter.

'Good job, we scare and kill some villagers only to go and buy food from them' the voice scolded you

"Not my fault, and who said I had to go to the village?" you say in a matter- of-fact way

'Then who, pray tell, is going?'

You pause and wait for the sound of small feet padding down the hallway, nearing the kitchen.

'No.' the voice groaned

"It's the only way. I surely can't go back."

'You're insane.'

"I made a deal with the Devil, of course I'm insane." you scoffed, "I don't want her going as much as you do, so I'll try to deter her.

You felt the entity roll its eyes before retreating into the back of your mind. K walked in just walked in and peeked her head around the corner and smiled warmly at you. You returned the smile and looked back into the freezer with a sigh.

"Is something wrong Miss?" K asked with a hint of concern

"No, we're just low on food..." you muttered

"We can get The Duke to deliver some for us...right?" she questioned

"He's on a business trip." you mumbled

"Let me go."

"Why?"

"I wanna help around the house."

"I understand," you say with a sigh, "But it's too dangerous. Especially since you're associated with me now."

The little girl puffed out her chest and crossed her arms. You sigh and groan a bit, knowing you've lost this battle

"Fine, but I'll be following you the whole time."

"What if the villagers see you?"

"They won't."

She looked at you confused but didn't say anything as you reluctantly handed her a basket and a list of food. She walked out the house and made her way to the village. You waited for her to disappear into the trees before turning into your owl form and flying out the nearby window. Your keen eyes quickly spot the girl as you continue to follow her, soon arriving at the village gates.

The dust kicked up from underneath K's trousers as her boots became muddy from the soil. You perch yourself in a nearby tree and watch with wary eyes as many of the townsfolk scampered away from her or just stared at her. You watch closely, watching, waiting.

K's POV

You walk through the village, the village you were born and raised in. It was strange to see everyone you knew and grew up with just stare at you with hostile eyes, like you were some kind of monster. You continue the way with no issue, eventually getting everything on the list. When you are satisfied you turn to walk back and return to your new home. Well at least that's what you planned on doing, until you hear a familiar voice call your name

"Kattie Morr!"

'My the black gods' you think...or at least you think you did

The voice in your head sounded...deeper, less like your own.
