Laufey's Revenge

One afternoon about a week after Loki was able to resume his kingly duties, Thor got some reports from Tony Stark about potential frost giant activity, Loki still was speaking in sign as he was still not fully able to talk, but as the Asgardians stepped out of the Bifrost onto the landing pad of Avengers tower Loki didn't have to do any talking as Thor took over the show, "Pet, can we please go sit down" Loki asked exhausted as the mission specs were put on the TV screen in the common room, Aquata nodded leading Loki to the couch right in front. Thor looked at Loki and Aquata sitting on the couch, Loki's head was on Aquata's shoulder and she was resting her head on top of his, Stark came in the room and brought up the map to the screen, "ok this is where the activity has been spotted, we have one in the artic, one on the top of Everest, and one surprisingly in space. So, who wants what." Tony briefed the team, Aquata looked at Loki and then to Thor, she shook her head hoping Thor got the message that Loki shouldn't go, "I'll take space alone," Thor said putting his hand on Aquata's arm "it is too dangerous for Loki and Aquata to go they are the biggest targets for Laufey, and with Loki still recovering from his severe asthma attack he tires easily, I don't want to put him at risk." The team looked at Loki almost asleep on Aquata then back at Thor "you're right Thor we need to keep them safe away from the action for now, Aquata why don't you go ahead and take Loki to bed so he can rest, we can handle this part" Captain America said. Aquata nodded and tapped Loki asking if he wanted to go lay down, Loki nodded and stood up, he then leaned on Aquata all the way back to their room. Loki fell asleep the instant his head hit the pillow, Aquata sat on the bed next to him stroking his hair for a bit and when she went to stand up she found two arms wrapped around her pulling her closer to their owner, Loki just moaned and held on to her, "Don't go pet," he whined "don't leave me alone", Aquata just went back to stroking his hair, "I was just going to get a drink love, I'm not going to leave you alone for long" she said assuring him he was going to be alright. Loki let go, reluctantly, and Aquata went and got two glasses of water, one with a straw in it for Loki and the other for her, she went back to the room only to find Loki sprawled out and snoring, she set the water down and sat down where Loki wasn't, which was difficult as he was taking up most of the bed, Aquata sang to let Loki know she was back and next to him. She heard Cap and Tony in the common room talking to the teams out investigating, it sounded like none of them had found anything to report, she then looked at the peaceful face of her husband, she sighed moving the hair out of his face and tucking it behind his ear.

Loki awoke a few hours later to Aquata singing and brushing her hair, feeling way better he joined her in the melody, "If I could trade mistakes for sheep, Count me away before you sleep, I'll stay awake 'til I trade my mistakes, Or they fade away" Aquata looked behind her to see him singing, she smiled and continued singing till the end of the song. After their duet was over Loki collapsed back and signed "drink pet." Aquata smiled and brought over his glass for him to drink from. Cap walked past seeing Aquata caring for Loki and it brought a smile to his face, he continued on to meet the group coming in, Aquata heard someone enter the room "Cap is that you?" Aquata asked, Loki looked over to see who it was, his eyes went wide, he tried to get Aquata to pay attention but as he was about to finish signing, Aquata was dragged away, by none other than Laufey himself. Loki jumped out of bed and ran after the giant, but with his body still recovering his magic wasn't as strong as it had been in the past, Tony saw Loki run past looking to see what he was chasing, Tony not seeing anything just figured Loki was being Loki and went back to manning mission control. Loki chased Laufey through the whole tower but was unable to catch the frost giant, Laufey jumped through a window and was gone, Loki collapsed from exhaustion landing on his knees, he sobbed heavily, he just lost his light, Loki felt the dark close in, being alerted to the sound of breaking glass, Tony and Cap came around the corner only to find Loki crying in front of a broken window. Cap helped Loki up and to the couch in the common room wrapping him in a blanket and giving him a glass of water, "Loki, what were you chasing?" Tony asked once Loki had calmed down a little, Loki gathered all the strength he had and spoke, "Laufey. He came in and grabbed Aquata, Odin only knows where he took her." Loki looked out to the landing pad where Thor touched down from his jaunt in space. Thor walked in to see Loki, "What's going on here, where's Aquata?" he asked, Loki started to cry again, Tony explained what happened to Thor who walked over and sat next to his brother pulling him into a hug, "We will get her back brother, don't worry" Thor said just letting Loki cry, "Thank you brother" Loki said softly. Aquata felt herself be jerked into a cell of some kind, the bag covering her head was removed to reveal Laufey on the other side of the forcefield holding her in the small room, "Welcome Queen Aquata, to my palace. The place you and your traitor of a husband will be the center piece in my ice sculpture garden." Laufey bellowed, Aquata felt her anger bubble inside her, "Loki will find me, and when he does he will bring an army with the sole purpose of killing you," Aquata hissed at her captor. Laufey just laughed and walked away "I would like to see them try." Aquata sat down closing her eyes, Loki she thought. Back at the tower all forces had been recalled, Loki just sat not moving other than to occasionally sip on his water, "We need to find her, and we need to find her soon. Loki is starting to give up hope on getting her back." Strange said walking over from Loki, the team thought, "Aquata should have her tracker on correct" Banner said, "she does the problem is if she is in a different realm it is not going to show here on Midgard." Thor explained, "She's on Jotunheim" a voice said coming from the couch, "What did you just say Loki?" Cap asked, "He took her to the realm of frost giants, Jotunheim" Loki repeated, all looked at Thor for an explanation, "what makes you say that Loki?" Thor asked, Loki turned to look at Thor, his eyes glowing the same blue as Aquata's max power, "because she told me" Loki said dead toned.
