Aquata was early to bed that night to make sure she got enough sleep to not have bags under her eyes the next day otherwise her makeup artist would kill her, though Aquata could not help but think something was missing from this day for her, and in a way, it was because Aquata's family could not be there with her to witness the day and celebrate with her and Loki. Thor did not give his special permission for her family to be there so they had to stay on Midgard and wonder what was going on at the wedding of their daughter to the crown prince of Asgard. The other thing crossing Aquata's mind was the reality that tomorrow she was going in Lady Aquata of Midgard and coming out Princess Aquata of Asgard and she wasn't sure if she was truly ready for all that responsibility. She was awoken with a soft shake from her lady's maid "good morning princess," the maid spoke "it's time to wake and start preparing for the wedding" Aquata sat up in bed and swung her legs to the side to stand, and as she stood, she was led half-awake to the bathroom and then to a pedestal to be dressed for the day ahead of her and Loki.
As her hair was styled into the traditional wedding style for Asgard, a waterfall bun with ribbons interlaced with her hair and a veil, she looked into the mirror she barely recognized herself she looked like the goddesses she read about in the Norse legends she wasn't the small-town girl that she was before coming to Asgard, she was on the larger side and a help desk tech at a local hospital but now she was thin, a princess to be and to be married to someone she felt is her soul mate. As soon as they were done dressing her, she was rushed to the cathedral of the gods and positioned in front of the massive doors leading to the sanctuary inside where Loki and everyone else was waiting for her.
As she stood in front of the cathedral doors waiting for them to open, her hands shook as she held on to her cascading wedding bouquet of white and purple calla lilies and blue roses with green vines of purple orchids. Her veil moving with every breath. Then she heard the music swell and the doors opened and there was Loki waiting for her at the end of a walk that started to feel as long as the world. Aquata started no less walking the way she was taught the night before in rehearsal, left together right together, all the way to her groom who looked at her like she was the only beauty in the realm and he in his crown and in his flowing cape and golden armor over his green and black bodysuit, after what felt like an eternity the couple was finally reunited at the altar, "hello pet you look stunning" Loki whispered with a smile on his face, "And you look shiny love" Aquata whispered back grinning under her veil.
"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today" the reverend started as Loki and Aquata looked at each other holding hands half listening because only in that moment it was just the two of them. "Aquata, I believe you two have written your own vows?" the reverend asked, "yes we have," Aquata replied and then she cleared her throat as the reverend handed her the mic "Loki, I vow to be the best mate I can be, for I knew from the moment I met you I knew that you were my second half and that together we were complete, my life would be dark if it was not for the light that you provide for me every day, I hope that light will always shine and never go out, so I promise to never abandon you no matter how hard life gets for I love you and always will even after Valhalla calls us to it." Then Loki took the mic and spoke, "Aquata, the stars cannot shine as bright as you, nor can the ocean start to match the amount of love and care that flows through you, and I may not rest as long as your aura shines so bright it blocks the sun making everyone around you filled with joy and warmth, so I vow to always match your love even after Valhalla calls me to its valleys." After Loki finished the reverend asked "If anyone has any reason why these two may not be married, speak now or ever hold your peace" as silence rang through the sanctuary the reverend then continued with "I now pronounce you man and wife, you may kiss the bride." On that line Loki lifted Aquata's veil and kissed her right on her lips and as Aquata accepted his kiss the crowd in the sanctuary cheered and Thor smiled a true smile for the first time in a long time. After the kiss ended Loki stepped off to the side and Aquata was sat in a throne and her veil was removed in its place a crown was placed on her head and she took the oath to become the princess of Asgard, and with that Aquata and Loki left the cathedral and to the outside for the rest who could not be inside for the ceremony to see the newlyweds then it was off to the reception that the whole kingdom continued to have smaller celebrations for all evening and into the night.
Aquata and Loki felt like they never got a moment to themselves after the one they had saying their vows. The one thing that they did know is that they are now and forever each other's rock to help though the tough times and they have their whole lives to be together and raise a family to continue the royal blood line of Odin and Laufey. When it was finally time to retire for the night, Aquata and Loki rushed up to their chambers to change out of their wedding attire so they might be able to talk to each other more than the lines they had performed earlier that day, but all Aquata could do when she got to Loki was grab on and collapse at his side on the bed "tired pet?" "No, I'm just resting my eyes and holding what's mine that I could not touch like this till now." Loki let out a low chuckle he had always thought that being from Midgard, Aquata would be improper and not be able to handle all the duties and the dinners and parties that she would have to attend being his wife, but she has been a champ of all of it and it was all for their wedding and now she is sleeping peacefully holding his waist, he stroked her hair that was half falling out of the bun that they styled her hair into for the wedding, Loki yawned and leaned back against his headboard and slowly drifted off to sleep with his bride now wife by his side.
