Mrs.Carter's mouth was left wide open. She never thought her own daughter could say such stuff to them.
Mr.Carter knew that yelling at her or punishing her wasn't gonna make anything better.
Grace threw the spoon on the floor. I knew that she was trying to express her anger and she was not ashamed of showing it. She was trying to be strong and not loose this argument. I also didn't let my weakness show. I wasn't going to sit in a corner while Grace was fighting for me. I started barking but I was just causing more sound pollution. Mr. Carter leaned on the table with his hands covering his face. His head was slightly moving. Up and down. Was he crying? Grace's face went pale and she ran outside to the back yard.
Mrs.Carter put her hand on Mr. Carter's back and gave him a few pats on the back.

"I feel like I'm a bad father who just always breaks their children's heart".
"Daniel that's not true". said Mrs.Carter.

I really didn't know if Grace did the right thing. I didn't know who's side to choose.
