The sun was setting and the night was cold and .People would pass by me and some wouldn't even notice. It was time for me to fetch my dinner where I would always wait at the back door of a cafe or a restaurant and wait for the leftovers to be thrown away. That would always be my breakfast, dinner and lunch. I waited for a while then a young man opened the door and threw away the leftovers in the trash can.
Before he closed the door he looked at me with a weird face, I knew he was disgusted by me.
But what could I do, this is my face, this is my body, this is who I am. There is nothing to be ashamed of. I looked around the trash can and could only find some biscuits and some bread so I just gobbled them up.
I didn't realize how hungry I was I was still a bit thirsty so I left looking for some water. I saw alittle puddle and decided to drink a bit. I couldn't find water anywhere else but that took care of it. I took the last sip and looked up, I saw many people walking around with their friends, Enjoying and laughing with joy. I also had memories like that with my family. I just hope I can smile with joy again. It was getting cold and I needed a place to sleep. I started walking around the street slowly between people and triying to pass them, But I knew they didn't care, they would walk with huge steps as if they don't even care that they could crush me. While walking I constantly heard a couple of women whispering and talking about me.

"Did you see that dog"?

"Whats wrong with its face"?

"He looks so ugly"!

"Who would want him"!

Those words just broke my heart. A tiny tear came from my eye. Why couldn't people just except me for who I was?
I was just desperate to live on the streets. I knew that hiding wasn't a great solution for me. That only showed that I was afraid to step into the world and was ashamed of my life.
That wasn't what I wanted. I wanted to walk around with a smile on my face.
