Chapter 26
Treasure' POV:

"Do I even wanna know what you guys are doing here?" Amari asked from the driver's seat.

"Do you wanna know?"

"Nope."

"You even told him to dress as a chauffeur?" I semi whispered to Liz who's sitting right next to me.

"I ain't tell him to wear that."

"Listen, you told me to be y'all chauffeur, I'm just playing the part." He scolded us. For the rest of the ride it was light conversations going back and forth between Amari. At some point he reminded Liz that she still has to watch his kids then the conversation stirred ending up talking about how his kids are demon spawns just like him.

"Enough about my demon kids, get out." He said through a small chuckle cause he knows we're right.

He stopped in the front by the stairs that we have to climb to get in. There weren't any other people outside except for security. Obviously because we're almost 2 hours late. They are heavily armed and stationed in what I'm guessing all around the big palace or whatever this place is called. There's some that's walking through the parking lot and some on both sides. The Romano's said nobody is going to ruin this night and it's understandable. It's their charity ball so i'm pretty sure their whole family is there including kids.

Amari exited the car, rounding around the side where we're sitting, helping us get out. "Text me when y'all ready to go." He said quiet but loud enough for the both of us to hear.

After what felt like years, we finally made it to the top of the stairs having our invitations ready. "Good Evening ladies." The man nodded his head towards us. We handed the invite towards him and to think he'd except it and let us leave he didn't. Instead he grabbed a flashlight and a small stick similar looking to a pencil from god knows where. He scratched both the invites on a corner that soon revealed a gold looking color.

Liz and I looked at each other but didn't say anything so it could look like a normal thing for us. Trying our best to fit in. "There you go ladies, just pass through there and you're free to enter. Enjoy your night." We both thanked him then passed through the metal detector. After we both came out clear, the security by the door opened it for us as we walked in and closed it right back up, leaving a big echo in the room we were now standing in. It's like we're locked in here now with nowhere to leave.

"Shot?" Liz asked.

"You know it." We didn't pre game before getting here and I could sense the headache I'm going to receive just by being here. A little bit of alcohol won't hurt anybody. There were still guards in this hall area but we didn't hesitate. We just walked straight through the hall as they opened the door for us to enter.

The music gained even louder now that the doors were opened. Thanking the guards, we walked through but stopped taking in the finished product of the decorations. Madam Surge did her thing. Little details were added after we left. It must've been the things that were delayed but were eventually delivered.

Without thinking any longer we walked straight to the bar ignoring all the stares. Stares that we didn't have time to detect whether it was judgment stares or stares of awe. We only had one plan right now and that was to get our asses to the bar.

Thankfully there were seats that were available, right smack in the middle. "Vodka shots please. With lime." I said once we sat down. Less than 2 minutes later the shots and slices of lime were staring at us and we surely didn't hesitate to grab. "Here's to a long night."

"Cheers." He tapped the shot glass on the counter before throwing the shot back, immediately sucking the lime juice after. In the corner of the bar you can see Spanish friend associate working as if they're actually doing their job.
