Chapter 34
Treasure POV:

It's been a few hours later and the pool party had calmed down. The sun was starting to set giving everyone the reason to change into the second outfit. I still don't understand the reason behind changing because we're still by the water.

So far we've been chilling on the beach for almost 30 minutes now.

The guys still didn't return from where they went so I spent my time with Elijah's family getting to know them all. Juliana is in the process of introducing me to everyone. Overall, everyone that I've met so far has been welcoming and quite the opposite of what I would've expected them to be.

I expected  harsh, kinda suspicious of who they talk to and just cautious. Those would be understandable because of the everyday life they live. Though, I would be paranoid. "I have a question?" I asked Juliana who had her arm linked with mine as we walked the pier.

"What is it?"

"How did you deal with Mr. Romano relationship wise while he was the leader?"

"One thing I would say is that it was challenging. I will not deny the fact that it was hard. But I was born into this life already. I just had to trust him and trust his abilities to make it back home. It's scary knowing the person you love is always in danger no matter where he goes and that danger will always follow both myself and my kids. It did become extra hard when I started having kids because every time he was out that door it wasn't only me and him I had to worry about. Five kids and one of me. But I would never ask for any other man, no other love story than the one I have with Marcel." The way she spoke just told me all I needed to know about the love she has for her family.

It's such a shame that such a beautiful family has to be seen with such a horrible image. When all I've seen so far is so much love.

"Did you ask because of Elijah?" She questioned after I didn't say anything, processing what she just told me.

I don't know why I asked. Mainly because I was curious about her story. She's a gentle woman but too gentle. You can tell she's a badass behind all that love she has for the world otherwise she wouldn't have made it far. No one in the mafia would've taken her seriously. To them she was a queen and she had to act like it. But in my eyes she seems so free. Like she's glad she doesn't have so much weight on her shoulder. That she can give off her duties to some unlucky girl who can fill in the space for the queen.

I shrugged. I don't know if Elijah was part of the reason I asked.  "Maybe. But I was curious about you. You seem so happy."

"Because I am. I wake up everyday with the man I love and see my kids becoming someone of their own. I couldn't be happier." We walked a little longer before she led me back to everyone else. We were talking about little things about Elijah that he wouldn't tell anyone like his birthday and middle name and little stories about him when he was teen or child. I just hope one day we get into an argument when I can state his full name.

For the rest of the night, it was a vibe, with more music, food,and llaughter. It was an average day for them. The men go conquer whatever they have to do and the women distract themselves by hanging with one another.

Slowly, people started to leave and as we were sitting by the bonfire I couldn't sit here any longer. Every day the more I see and hang with this family the more I feel bad for what I'm doing. I just simply want to do my job and go. At the end of the day as long as we don't get caught in the scene I can still act like I'm not a cop and just leave.

The whole purpose of this mission is to find the center of their operation. Once we find that out,  our job is over and Mr. Green's job is to assign other people to slowly bring them down little by little who aren't gonna go undercover.
