Chapter 51
Treasure's POV:

It's been two days since I went to see Juliana. Two days since we had to stay in hiding.

After I came back from speaking to Elijah's mom, we had called our agency informing them everything that had happened in the past months. They were aware of our mission but they didn't know about Greene. When we told Devontae and Santiago, it only felt right to keep it in our inner circle, learning the truth before revealing Greene. We also needed proof.

As for our proof we simply gave them Greene's real name and that took care of everything. They had other hackers who figured everything they needed to know.

That process alone took 4 hours of back and forth communicating everything, from the beginning all the way to the end of the mission. The next day they had a safe house ready for us to lay low until we figured out our next step.

Thankfully, Devontae had our real passports and IDs with him. We all decided that it was necessary to take a trip especially Liz and I. It worked out perfectly anyways because the agency have to bring back Treasure and Elizabeth and while they do that, we'll be laying low in someone else country as some clown ass tourists. Hopefully drinking so some liquor in between.

Now as we're at the safehouse, it was a mess of half-zipped suitcases, shoes tossed into the wrong bags, and people shouting over each other like we weren't trained agents who had just survived a mob war. You'd think packing for vacation would be the easy part.

Liz sat cross-legged on the floor with Santiago three open bags in front of her, trying to help him pack any faster.

She whipped a sandal at him. "Why'd you bring so much clothes for a mission?"

"Outside of work, you do realize we're in Europe." he muttered.

Devontae on the other hand, was the loudest of all, pacing around with his headphones hanging from his neck, shouting over everyone else. "We're gonna be late." He looked at his watch for the millionth time.

James rolled his eyes. "Dude relax, we're almost done."

"You said that 20 minutes ago." Devontae shot back, clutching his chest.

"It's okay, thanks to me Santi is basically done." Liz added sweetly. "You can calm your ass." Devontae looked at Liz like he was dumbfounded. He wanted to argue that he was calm but he knew he wasn't.

The laughter that followed was the kind that sat deep in your chest, the kind you hadn't felt in forever. For the first time in months, maybe years, the noise wasn't gunfire or shouting—it was just us being loud, alive, together.

I sat on the edge of the couch, carefully folding clothes into my duffel. My side twinged if I moved too fast, a reminder that I wasn't completely healed yet. But I was here. And I was going home—well, kind of.

"How do you even have all these clothes. Where did they come from?" Amari said from behind me. I hope he didn't know that me going on vacation with no clothes was an option.

Laying low means Liz and I going to the mall to shop for our trip.

I glanced back at him. "Mind ya business Mr. one pair of jeans and three shirts."

"That's all I need." He shrugged like it was the most logical thing in the world.

"Until you spill something on one of those shirts," Liz cut in. "Then what? You're going to look like a tourist with stains down your front. Maybe get one of those tourist button down shirts."

Amari didn't miss a beat. "Then I'll just take one of Devontae's. He's got enough clothes for all of us."

"Hell no," Devontae said, snatching his suitcase shut like James might actually try. "Y'all not about to stretch out my shit."
