Chapter 36
Treasure's POV:

I slept like a log the rest of the flight. Did it feel good? Yes. Did I regret it? No. Am I even more scared than before? Hell yes. I can say that I find him more than attractive or I can say I do think I'm starting to catch feelings but then there's another in the back of my mind that's reminding what we could never be.

It's ridiculous to think otherwise. To think that this story can have a happy ending.

"Athena wake up." I felt a hand shaking me. I groaned awake and stretched out my body.

I opened my eyes finding Elijah standing in front of me. "We're here." He put his hand out for me to grab. I put my hand in his and rubbed my eyes with my one free hand. I know he's telling me that we're here but I have no fucking idea of what's going on.

He leads me to a car and shuts the door once I was seated. I didn't get the chance to ask where he was going.

I shrugged and leaned on the car door, looking out the window. I see his men all around. We're in Italian. His men are gonna be doubled than what he had before.

I kept dosing off and waking up seeming like I've been sitting here for more than 30 minutes.

Out of no where the door on the opposite side opens and he sits down but i stayed quiet seeing the phone pressed on his ear. When it was his turn to speak he was speaking in his native tongue. Them baby words on the plane that I learned was not helping. So I reverted my eyes back out the window.

The car began to move and while we was driving through the wonderful country Italy, I was glued and an awe with the structures, building and people. It was beautiful. Nothing I've ever seen before. Maybe because I haven't traveled anywhere really.

Just to states but nothing that would really impress me until now. Only country I've been to has been because I have family there so me and my family would go see them. My mom is Nigerian and my dad is Moroccan. There's more to them than just that but those are the roots that I grew up with.

My parents both ran away to the US when they were young, met each other and had me and my sister. They learned and experienced about America together. They lived their American dream. But till this day they never forget where they grew up and would always bring me and my sister back home to see my grandparents, aunties, uncles and cousins that have yet to move to the US.

Nothing is more beautiful than Africa to me but seeing a different country will never seize to amaze me.

We drove for about 25 minutes until we entered a deserted area. It was full of trees and greenery but it was spacious. Like you can see the land and the lakes surrounding the area. We kept driving and we stopped at a gate where there were armed men. Elijah window was put down and they immediately opened the gate without saying a word.
