Chapter 26

Monique's Pov

I woke up the next day and was instantly unmotivated to do anything, it sucks waking up and not having a purpose. There was nothing for me to do, I needed to find something to do in the next 2 weeks or I was going to go insane. 

I headed downstairs and made myself some breakfast, then made my way to the couch to watch some TV. I was so bored. 

Charlie's Pov

I headed into the club for training and made my way into the locker room "Morning Charlie" Lauren said carrying towels out of the washroom "Morning Lauren" I answered. I got changed for training and then headed out onto the oval, I started with some goal kicking and then we started doing drills. I enjoy training, but I was unmotivated today.

training went slowly, but once it was over I headed back into the locker room and got ready to leave, I was headed straight to Monique's and I couldn't be more excited. "hey Charlie, the boys and I are going to grab some lunch, did you want to come with us?" Jack asked "No thanks I'll pass" I answered "Got a date?" Tom smiled "Something like that," I said smiling back at him. I left the club and made my way to her house.

I knocked on her door and she opened it giving me a hug straight away "Are you okay?" I asked "Yeah sorry, I just don't know what to do with myself, I'm so bored" she said "Hey, it will be okay, we can come up with something for you to do together" i said as we walked inside. we went and sat on the couch and began trying to come up with things for her to do while she wasnt working, she obviously had uni work but other than that she had nothing "I don't know what to do i'm so bored" she groaned "i know i know, training was boring for me too" i said "but im not normally at training" she said "i know but youre at the club and that motivates me" i said "so what do you think i should do with myself?" she asked "i don't know, we need to find you a hobby" i answered "like what?" she asked again "i don't know" i said.

we needed to find something for her to do, but we couldn't find anything that she found interesting. we decided to watch a movie and then made some dinner, and I went home, I thought long and hard about what could keep Monique occupied and I had the perfect idea. 

the next morning I got up and headed to the club, and went straight to Lauren's office "Come in" she said "oh charlie, what can I do for you?" she asked "I have a question about Monique" I said, I asked her and thankfully she had an answer, this helped me, now all I needed to do was stop at the shops on my way home, I was so excited and I really hope she likes it.

after training I headed to the shops, I picked out what I was going to get her, paid for it, and then got it gift-wrapped, then headed to her house. I knocked on the door "thank god you're here, I'm so bored" she laughed "Well hopefully not for much longer" I said giving her the gift "Be careful with it" I said "Charlie, you didn't have to get me anything" she said "I know but I felt bad so I did" I said she sat down on the couch and opened up the box and instantly gasped "oh my god charlie!" she said, as she opened the box a puppy jumped out "you didn't just go and buy me a puppy!" she said excitedly "I did, this should keep you occupied for 2 weeks" I said laughing "oh my god he's gorgeous" she said, I got her a border collie just like mine, "thank you do much!" she said hugging me "it's okay, now I can bring Reggie over for playtime" I said "omg I have to name it! what do I name it?" she asked "i dont know, whatever you want to i guess" i laughed "archie" she said "archie it is" i smiled at her "oh my god i havent got any dog food, or a bed or anything for a dog" she said "thats okay, i fed him before i got here, and he can sleep in your bed or on the floor until you get him a bed, it will give you something to do tomorrow" i smiled "you are so thoughtful, thank you so much, really" she said "youre worth it" i answered. I had never seen her so excited. 

we spent the rest of the day just watching movies and cuddling with Archie, she was so happy "Can you bring Reggie around tomorrow?" she asked "Of course I can" i smiled "Good, I want Archie to get used to other dogs" she said "no worries" i smiled. we watched another movie and then made dinner. we talked for a bit and then I said my goodbyes and left to go home.

Monique's Pov

I can't believe Charlie brought me a puppy, it was the sweetest thought. After Charlie left I immediately Facetimed Amy and Jenny. "hey guys" I smiled "Oh my god you got a puppy!" Jenny said excitedly "Actually Charlie got me a puppy" I clarified "Oh my god! he just became even dreamier" Jenny said "he seems to be good for you mon," Amy said "I know, I've never been so happy before, he was sorry for me being out of work for 2 weeks so it was kind of an apology gift and a here's something so youre not bored gift" i laughed "well it was a perfect gift, what did you name him?" amy asked "Archie" i said "oh my god so cute" Jenny said "yeah, charlie is going to bring over his dog Reggie for a play date tomorrow" i said "aww so he gets to bring his dog over for a play date and as a bonus he gets a play date too" Jenny laughed "oh my god, shhh" i laughed blushing "you're so blushing!" she said "i am not" i said "you defnitely are" Amy said "speaking of got any deets? have you guys done anything yet?" Jenny asked "No we haven't, we are taking things slow," I said "he must really like you" Jenny laughed "whats that supposed to mean?" I asked "Well for a guy to just wait for sex is like finding a diamond in your backyard," Jenny said "yeah well, we are both not ready," I said, "wait is he a virgin!" Jenny said "I never said that" I answered "oh my god, how can Charlie Curnow be a virgin, i mean look at him ughhh" Jenny whined "okay relax, it's not that big of a deal," I said "but surely he's had girlfriends before, how has he not, i mean honestly what girl wouldnt want to climb all up on that" Jenny said "again, relax, im sure there's an explanation" i said "okay okay" she said "alright well im going to bed, goodnight girls" i said "goodnight Mon" they said and we hung up.

I picked up Archie and headed into my room and got ready for bed, then i laid in bed and let Archie get comfortable before turning off the light and going to sleep.
