Chapter 29

Monique's Pov

I was woken by a noise in the middle of the night, I got up and walked downstairs turning on all the lights in the process. I looked around, but there was nothing out of place or anything, i checked the windows, they were locked and so was the door, however, the front doormat had moved slightly "Hello?" I called out "Is anyone there?" I added, there was something really creepy about this and I didn't know what to do, I went up to my room grabbed my phone, and dialed the one person who could understand. 

"Monique?" i croaky voice on the other end of the line said 

"Sorry to wake you Charlie, but I think someone was at or in my house," I said

"What?!" he said more alert

"Well I heard a noise and came downstairs to have a look and nothing seemed out of place until I went to check the front door and the doormat had been moved" I explained 

"Okay stay on the phone with me, I'm coming over," he said 

we continued talking to each other while he made his way here, I heard him pull into the driveway and then a knock at my door "It's just me" he said over the phone. I went over to the door and unlocked it "Hey" I said "Hey" he said back hanging up the phone, he came in and locked the door behind him "alright, so where did the noise come from?" he asked "i don't know I was asleep and it woke me" I said, "alright, and nothing seems out of place but the doormat?"  he asked "yeah" I answered "where's Archie?" he asked curiously "he's upstairs in my room why?" I asked "Well if someone was in the house he would have barked," Charlie said walking upstairs to my room where Archie was laying in his bed fast asleep "And you've checked everywhere?" he asked "Yeah I did," I said "alright it seems okay, just a false alarm," he said walking back downstairs and heading towards the doormat to put it back in place, I was standing behind him, he picked something up off the floor and turned around to me "its that?" I asked "Looks like it, she was here," he said. we went and sat down on the couch "I want to open it, it was meant for me" I said, and he gave me the envelope "Thank you" I said to him

"Hello, Monique, 

I hope you are doing well, I'm sure by now you know all about the image in the paper, which means you know that I'm following you both. 

there is only one thing I want and you've taken it from me. if you give it back I'll stop all of this

Charlie seems worried, tell him not to be, I'm not going to hurt either of you, I just want you to understand that there is no one else in this world that will be able to love him as I do, not you, not anyone, and I just want him to be happy, don't you?

anyway, I hope this reaches you okay"

I took a deep breath after reading the letter "What's it say?" he asked "She wants me to let you go, that's all she wants, she said she wouldn't hurt either of us she just thinks she is the only person in this world who can love you" I explained "this is way out of hand now, I'm going to stay here tonight, make sure you're okay, go and get some sleep" he said "okay" I said, getting up from the couch and heading up to my room. 

Charlie's Pov

this was getting way out of hand, this chick was crazy and we need to stop her. I just hoped that Brian contacted the police and they would take this seriously. 

the next morning I woke up and made Monique some breakfast before heading to her room to wake her up, I sat on the edge of the bed and pushed the hair behind her ear, she moved slightly "Hey" she said "hey, I made you breakfast, its downstairs in the kitchen" I said "you didn't have to" she said "I know but I wanted to" I said. she smiled at me and then got out of bed, I walked back downstairs and waited for her in the kitchen. 

"thank you for this," she said as she made her way down the stairs "no worries" I smiled at her. we both ate breakfast in silence "You've got a game today" she said "I do" I said "you should get going soon" she said "I know, I'm worried about you though" I said "ill be okay" she said "ill invite my friends over" she added "okay id like that, then i know there's other people with you here" i said, she smiled at me as she grabbed her phone to message her friends "they are coming over" she smiled "alright, well ill wait till they get here" i said "you dont have to do that" she said "are you worried about me meeting youre friends?" i asked her teasingly "Amy nah, Jenny yes" she said "why whats wrong with Jenny?" i asked her curiously "she is like obsessed with us. well you, like she wants to know all t he details of everything, and she will freak out if she sees you in person actually in my house" she laughed "she sounds like a good friend" i said laughing "theyll be here any second now" she said "well good, cause id love to meet them" i said. she sighed and went and started doing the dishes.

a couple of minutes later there was a knock at the door and then it opened "hey Mon, who's car is that parked in the driveway?" one of them asked as they walked into the kitchen "oh... my...god..." one of them said as she walked in "you must be Jenny, Hi, im Charlie" I smiled "yes you are" she said looking me up and down "jenny stop" Monique said "and that makes you Amy" I said smiling at the other friend "it's great to finally meet you Charlie" she smiled, you could see thed difference between Monique's two friends "well im going to head off now, ill see you later" I said saying goodbye to Monique and both her friends and making my way to the door, Monique followed me "thank you for last night and this morning, I really appreaciate it" she said "no worries, I am your boyfriend remember" I laughed "I know, good luck today" she said "thank you, ill see you later" I said and kissed her lightly on the lips and then got in my car and left.

Monique's Pov

"okay you need to tell me everything," Jenny said as I walked back into the kitchen "nothing happened, however, there is something I need to talk to you both about," I said "what is it?" Amy asked "you might want to sit down," I said, they did as I said and then I told them everything about the stalker "oh my god, that is not okay," Amy said, I showed them the letter she left me last night and told them about the one she left for charlie "no wonder he stayed with you last night, I wouldn't want to be alone if that happened to me," Jenny said "he offered, but I called him cause I thought there was someone in my house," I said "that must have been terrifying, I'm so sorry you're going through this, what are you going to do about it?" Amy asked "well charlie has spoken to Brian the CEO of the club, and he has let the police know so now its just a matter of them contacting us to get our statements and stuff" i said "wow, this is so full on" Jenny said "i know" i agreed "im questioning whether or not just to end things with Charlie, just so this will stop" i said "No! you cant do that" Jenny said "but then it will stop" i said "but then youre letting her win" Amy said "i know but what if the cops cant do anything about it?" i asked "well they should, and if they dont, you make them" Jenny said, i sighed, i knew that i needed to wait for the police to get involved before i made any irrational decisions so thats what im going to do.
