Chapter 31

Monique's POV

I woke up early and Charlie was already missing from the bed, I sighed and rolled over onto his side, it smelt like him, I could lay here forever "Morning sleepyhead" he laughed walking in with a tray that had pancakes on it "Charlie, you didn't have to" I said "yeah I did, you've been going through so much and it's all because of me, I wanted to try and make it up to you" he said "well thank you" I smiled sitting up in bed, Charlie placed the tray on my lap "I'm going to go for a shower while you eat" he said "no worries" I smiled as he made his way into the bathroom.

I finished my breakfast which was delicious by the way, and headed downstairs to wash the dishes. while I was doing so Charlie's phone which was sitting on the counter went off, I ignored it cause I respected his privacy. a little while later he came down and grabbed his phone "Good news" he said, "What is it?" I asked "Brian said the police are at the club and want our statements," he said "Oh that's good, I'll go get ready, and I'll be down in a sec," I said as I headed upstairs to get dressed. 

I headed back downstairs and we left my house making sure to lock the door and make sure the dogs were happy. we took Charlie's car, and when we arrived at the club we both headed up to Brian's office "Ah, Charlie, Monique, welcome" Brian said, the police turned to us "Mr. Curnow, could we please take your statement" one of the officers said "of course sir" Charlie answered and left the room "it's routine that we take your statements separately" the other officer said noticing my reaction.  "no worries" I smiled. 

"alright, can you tell me when this all started?" he asked, "um.. well it didnt start until the other day technically, but we met her while we were in adelaide for one of Charlie's games" i answered "alright and how was she when you first met her?" he asked "um... she was normal  i guess, like every other girl that has a crush on someone i guess, excited" i answered "right, and what made her change her mind?" he asked "i dont know, i guess, i went for a walk while in adelaide and stopped at a coffee shop where the girl that was serving me was one of her best friends from the training, she was very adamant that i was Charlie's girlfriend and i denied it" i answered "right and what did her friend do in respose to you deny it?" he asked "she was adamant, kept pushing the fact, and i kept denying it, i then left and we happened to see a tweet the next day i think and she had tweeted that i was his girlfriend" i answered "okay, so nothing else happened until the note?" he questioned "not that im aware of no" i said "okay and what happened when you got the first note?" he asked "well i didnt get it, Charlie did, it was in his letterbox, but there was an almost threatening note and photos of me and him entering his house" i said "okay, and what happened after?" he asked "well charlie came and told brian i beleive and then came and told me" i said "alright and has there been any other interaction since then?" he asked "well i recieved a letter as well i think the next day" i said "and what did that letter say?" he asked "well she seems reasonably nice considering, she said she didnt want to hurt us, she just wanted me to break up with Charlie" i explained "okay and has there been anything else?" he asked "no nothing since" i smiled "okay thank you" he said standing up and  leaving the office, i waited there for charlie to get back.

Charlie's POV

I went into a different room with one of the officers "It's only routine to question you all individually" he said "That's fine" I answered "So can you tell me what happened?" he asked "Okay so I met her at an open training while we were in Adelaide for one of my games, he seemed normal like every other girl that has a crush on someone I guess, she asked if I would marry her and I said that I had a girlfriend. the next morning one of her friends tweeted that my girlfriend was Monique, other than that there was nothing else that happened until this week, I saw her at another open training and she told me to be careful, I didn't think anything of it. the next day there was a letter in my letterbox from her, it was almost threatening, and there were photos of me and Monique together in it, I came and spoke to Brian about it and then told Monique, I think the next day she recieved a letter after we thought someone had broken into her house, it wasnt so much threatening, she said she didnt want to hurt us, just that she wanted Monique to break up with me, other than that their hasnt been anything else yet" I said "right okay, well thank you" he said and stood up then left the room, I did too and went back to brian's office "hey" I said as I entered "hey" she answered smiling softly at me "you okay?" I aksed "yeah I hope they can find out who this girl is" she said "me too" I answered "since that is done, I believe you have somewhere to be?" Brian asked "yes sir" I said walking with Monique out of his office "ill wait for you in the cafe" she smiled "no worries, hopefully, I shouldnt be too long" I smiled "dont stress" she smiled 

i headed into the debriefing room, being late everyone looked at me when i entered, our coach just looked and me and nodded. I'm assuming Brian told him why I was late. I sat down quietly while the coach continued talking.

Monique's Pov

I ordered a coffee and a piece of cake and sat down at my usual table. I was just scrolling through my phone when the waiter had delivered what I ordered, I thanked him and began to eat. a little while later the chair in front of me moved. I looked up "Oh hi sir" I smiled as Brian took a seat. "hi, how are you doing?" he asked "I'm good thanks sir, yourself?" I asked "I'm fine thanks" he smiled "Is there something I can do for you, sir?" I asked, he sighed "Look, I'm not saying that all this would go away if you stopped seeing Charlie, but it would wouldn't it?" he asked "We can just do what she wants sir, she doesn't control our life" I answered "I understand that, but you could come back to work, you would stop being harassed," he said, now it was my turn to sigh "look sir, I appreciate your concern, but we aren't going to break up" I answered "okay, I just thought it would be worth a try, goodbye Monique," he said "goodbye sur" I answered

about 5 minutes later Charlie came out "Hey" he smiled "Hey" I replied "You okay?" he asked "yeh im okay" I smiled. we headed back to his car and then back to my house "I'm going to head back to mined if you're comfortable with that?" he asked. I was a bit taken aback but I nodded "Yeah that's okay" I answered. Charlie grabbed his things and then left.
