26. Romantic Flaws
(3/9/09)

S. A. M.; short; intelligent but really stubborn;
Likes oldies and old movies but 14 years old...
These are but a few of many "flaws"
I somehow still possess. Others are quite
Unusual, like burping while in slumber,
Sleepwalking and occasionally forgetting
To flush the toilet—such wanton attributes
Stain a relationship, which is why
I reveal first these singular faults.
Also, I am prone to psychotic fits
Of unprovoked rage or depression,
Which stem from my horrid past,
Woeful in all of its hellish hurts.
Even worse are my pack rat ways
That clutter the house in obscenely
Profuse junk. So for me whose woes
Outpour eventual affliction to others,
I want understanding, loyalty and sweet
Love from a woman who embodies all
That opposes my horrid flaws:
And through such love and compassion
Will free me of these horrendous
Faults for a much better future.

(To be continued...)

A/N: Don't ask me what S. A. M. stand for; I don't have a clue anymore. Believe it or not, this is one of my first attempts at serious love poetry. Man, I thought I was being like Shakespeare when I first wrote this; I guess I get a kick out of knowing how naive I was back then.
