Lapis: Wait, it tophat 1, or 2 words? HATCHLIN!! I know you're reading this, do you know? Oh well. Basically, we're gonna take all of the members of Brighter Future, and talk about what they were going to be before the final product. Let's go!!
Starting off with the owner and the girl who will probably cause her own death (we're just being honest) Sunshine! Originally she was going to be mostly like now. Sarcastic, protective, lover of fun, but early on she was going to be extremely violent. Snapping arms, breaking ribs, stuff like that to whoever bullies the innocent. She's still somewhat like that, but toned down ALOT!! Origional plan would be something along the lines of of someone was just trying to steal lunch money, she would crack their skull and break a few ribs before reversing it with her power so no one could convict her. I honestly didn't like this, so toned it down to if someone was bullying, she would slam them into a wall or onto concrete but nothing broken. Also, her nickname was just gonna be Sun. But thepirkachu (thank you so much dude) gave the much better nickname Sunny when I was asking if her nickname should be Sun or Shine in the discord. Also, I might start to just write Sunny instead of her full name when she talks just for simplicity. I'll vote on that later
Next, Katie. Funny thing is, she wasn't going to be the mean one early on. I knew I wanted to do a mean character but I wasn't sure who or what their personality would be like. I did consider the typical mean girl stereotype but I chose to go with queen of smart instead. But when with her quick redemption, I'm going to do more with her.
Alex up next!! I think I said this somewhere else, but when working on Next Generation, Alex was going to have anger issues. I didn't like the idea, so I sort of gave that to Sunny at times instead. Next idea was to make him dumb, but also didn't like that. Axel from Eeveelution Squad honestly didn't have much personality besides protective of Sunshine, so I couldn't use that for inspiration, but I'm happy with the final result. Now Alex is the more reasonable/normal member of the group and helps to sort of even out Sunny's more dangerous ideas or Tyler's lacking of knowledge. But I couldn't help but add a bit of easily embarrassed with Sunshine. She's super affectionate so I think it works perfectly!!
Mia. Oh boy Mia. You wanna know what she was like originally? Just go read Next Generation.
Tyler went- Ok I'm joking. Let's actually talk about Mia. Next Generation didn't have much with her. Early on she was just the 2nd half of the sibling pair with Rocky who didn't have much personality to be honest. While working on BF, I was getting seriously into Owl House so that's where alot of Mia inspiration came from. Her easily happy and nerdy personality came from Luz, Heterochromia came from edits of Amity with one blue eye (loved it), and love for comics was also Luz based, but after a while I realized she would be the perfect daughter to Lapis! But due to a shark, she can't give birth, and with the help of a little TV show called Bluey and other ideas, I came up with her being adopted!! Plus I was able to keep the sibling bond idea with Sunshine instead so it's a win all around and Mia is now my absolute favorite to write about!! You can probably tell by how often I have her show up

Here's one of the pics I could find of Heterochromia Amity. Plus I think it makes Mia even more unique. And vegan was a clear move. She can turn into animals, so eating things that harm animals just feels wrong. But if it dosnt harm animals, she's ok with it. So she'll sometimes eat honey. But not often cause it also upsets her stomach. Weak stomach is more for jokes.
Tyler was honestly an afterthought. He was added mostly cause I needed 6, and he was thought about last. But even with that I'm happy with the results!! I got to bring back the dumb idea from Alex and made him a sort of jock/party guy who means well, but lacks social awareness. More jokes with him soon
Last but not least, Cole. He was... I won't lie. I made him origionaly just as someone for Mia to date. But I'm not doing that anymore!! You'll see why in the next main chapter. He was shy, and you can see that in the first chapter, but now he's more just quiet but isn't against speaking up when it comes to defending people. He won't defend himself, used to the bullying but he can't stand seeing it with others. Overall, not much has changed. Oh wait!! One other thing, he was going to be Katie. Well... more like his name was going to be for the Katie character but things changed
Well, I hope you liked this glimpse at what could have been. I love sharing behind the scenes stuff for my stories so I'll probably do more! Anyway, here's hoping for a new dare! Byee!!
