Sirius Black used to date Remus Lupin, he used to be infatuated with the man and he knew what it looked like when Remus adored someone. When he liked them. And Remus Lupin liked Dawna Flynn.
As much as he tried to deny it, Remus was an open book and Sirius as his best friend on many many years could read him like an open book.
And he could say the same about Dawna but she was quite literally an open book, the girl had no idea how to. hide what she was feeling and Sirius guessed that she didn't want to. She didn't seem any bit of closed off and Sirius, being the observer he was, could practically smell it coming off her.
But as he always had been, Remus was insecure. In school Sirius had tried an uncountable amout of times to. get his friend out of the shell he was in but Remus remained closed off to anyone that wasn't in his immediate circle of friends and that was only five people.
Sirus himself, James, Peter, Lily and Mary.
And Sirius had been the only one left. But Sirius hadn't been there. Remus had noone.
But he was back. And now there was also Dawna.
Sirus never felt left out when Remus and Dawna did their own thing. How could he when he was watching his friend smile a smile that hadn't seen the light of day as many times as it should have, when he was watching his friend get comfortable with someone new, someone that hadn't been in his immediate circle.
Seeing his friends happy had always been one of Sirius' aspirations. Seeing Peter happy was a lost cause but they hadn't been friends in a long time so he no longer cared.
Then James. His James. James had been happy before he died and Sirius was sure he'd been happy up until the moment he died. He had Harry and he had his Lily. He had his people.
But Remus, Remus was content but he wasn't happy. Remus had him. Remus had Sirius. But they weren't in love, they were friends.
Sirus had been happy but Remus hadn't.But if he could make Remus happy now then he would do anything.
So that's why he had a bouquet of roses infront of him and was absolutely shredding them, dropping the petals into a bowl he'd nabbed from the kitchen. He was being what Remus was would refer to as a menace and he loved every bit of it.
Sirius had shoved the pair of them out of the house for the day, to take Dawna shopping for new clothes that she was still lacking in and Sirius had been at it all day. He estimated they'd be back in about ten minutes and he was revelling at the fact that he was on the last part of it all.
He set up a pinicy dinner in the living room.
He had to raid the house to find everything but he found most of it. A blue and green plaid blanket was laid on the floor where the coffee had been, the coffee table was now stored in the corner of Sirius' room. There was all sorts of picnic foods set out which Sirus has spent all day preparing and he'd set out loads of pillows and blankets. He'd even pulled up a movie that he and Remus used to curl up and watch all the time, The Rocky Horro Picture Show. He was sure Remus still liked it and that Dawna had never watched it so it was a win win.
He jumped up, already dressed up to leave the house as they got in and he picked up the bowl of petals and began to scatter them around the living room, throwing the around aimlessly.
He stood back to observe his work and he stared around proudly.
It was perfect. So perfect that Remus was going to rip him apart.
Now he just had to wait, and it wasn't long. Because as Sirius shut the door to his bedroom the front door clicked open and Remus' and Dawna's voice filtered down the hall and Sirius looked over at them as they walked in.
Remus paused and looked up at Sirius,
"Where are you going?" He asked and Sirius put on a show,
"I have a smoking hot date." He hummed as he straightened out his jacket and strode down the hallway towards them.
"Oh yeah?" Remus asked as he took Dawnas jacket amd hung it up before he shuffled down the hallway towards his room with a couple bags.
"Yep.""Oh I'm so happy for you Sirius." Dawna said and pulled him down into a hug, "With that guy you said you've been seeing?" Sirius nodded.
"You have to come see my clothes first. There's this dress-"
"I really need to go, im gonna be late otherwise."Remus poked his head out of the room and smiled.
"Have fun Sirius."
"Oh you too Remus."
"What?"
"Nothing."Sirius slipped oast Dawna and kissed the top of her head and ushered her down the hallway.
"Bye lovebirds."
"Sirius.." Remus wanted and Sirius shut the door and took in a deep breath. He waited outside the front door for a couple minutes till he saw the light flick on in the living room and he took the tv remote from his jacket pocket and pointed it at the living room window and the tv flickered on and the movie started.
Remus' head whipped to the window and Sirius waggled his fingers as a wave before he shifted.
"Sirius!" He heard Remus yell and he booked it down the street. He might aswell make the most of what he was sure would be the last hours of his life because Remus was going to throttle him when he got back.
All Sirius could think was that it would he worth it because he hoped it would spark a start between his two closest friends and Remus would finally be happy.
Sirius shifted back in an alley by a pub and he walked into it, nodding at the weekend security in a greeting.
He glanced around the slow working pub and he smiled when he saw the familiar blonde sat at the bar and he walked up to him.
"Levy."
The blonde turned to him and a smile quirked on his lips at the sight of Sirius.
"Hello Danny Zuko." He answered, taking in the leather jacket with raised brows. Sirius slid into the seat next to him and pulled the blonde over and pressed a kiss to his lips.
"That's my name, don't wear it out." Sirius quoted and Levy laughed."Fucking idiot."
