"You're back late."
"Am I in trouble?" Sirius asked from around the corner of the doorway.
"No." Remus spoke, his voice was quiet and he looked up from the redhead asleep on his lap and met Sirius' eyes. Before he could say anything his eyes fell to the pale mans neck and his brows raised and he met his eyes again.

Sirius seemed to have realised what Remus noticed and he raised the collar or his jacket and smiled shyly.

"Nothing I haven't seen before." Remus said and Sirius rounded the sofa and sat beside Remus, "who is he?"
Sirius stared down at his own hands and Remus smiled at his friends smitten smile.
"His names Levy. I met him at a pub in town, The Rooster." Sirius said,
"He's good?"
"Very." Sirius said, "In all the ways. And I think he actually really likes me, like Lily liked James."
"And you like him? " Remus lifted his free arm and laid it over the back of the sofa behind Sirius who dropped his head back and over Remus' arm and his head turned to look at Remus. They met eyes again and Sirius nodded.

"Yeah, I think I really do." Sirius answered and then his eyes moved down to look at Red, "I trust everything went well?"
Remus looked down at Red and after pulling out his hand that lay under her head, he brushed her hair from her freckled face.
"I almost fucked it up before anything happened." Remus admitted and Sirius' head moved to his shoulder.
"How so?"

Remus thought back. He'd been so angry with Sirius that he hadn't thought about Reds opinion on it all. When he'd seen the panic and tbe upset it had all seemed to fall into place in his mind.

She turned over and her chin rested in his hand.

"I was so upset with you for taking charge of something I didn't ask you too that I didn't think of how she felt about and bless her soul-" Remus let out a soft laugh, "she began trying to clean all of your mess."
"This is not a mess-"
"Pads." Sirius rolled his eyes,

"But I fixed it. I think we're gonna try."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah."
"Good because you two are absolutely smitten with eachother."

Remus jogged his shoulder up and Sirius smacked his leg.
They sat in a comfortable silence for a couple minutes.

"Would you like to meet Levy?" Sirius asked and Remus waa surprised by the apprehension in his tone.
"Would I like to meet the bloke that makes you smiled like that?" Remus asked and lifted his hand amd poked the corner of Sirius' smiling mouth, "Yes please, I have to see what's so special about him."
"Really?" Sirius lifted his head and his tone was a notch too loud and Remus shushed him and they both stared at Red as her eyes fluttered open.

"Have fun?" She muttered to Sirius who. nodded and pet her head.
"Yeah, go back to sleep cat."
Red hummed a low response and she turned over again and her cheek rested on Remus' tummy. And she was asleep.

They both stared at her again.

"Really Sirius." Remus spoke and Sirius seemed to snap back into the conversation.
"Serious?" He asked and he seemed to. notice his mistake as Remus grinned,
"No. You're Sirius, I'm Remus."
"Oh how Jamie of you." Sirius rolled his eyes and Remus smiled.

"Bring him for dinner on Thursday? Red wants to cook for us." Remus told him and Sirius gave him a scared look.
"Is that a good idea?"
Remus shrugged,
"I'll have the phone dialed for pizza just incase."
"what's she going to make?"
"Don't know. But I'd ask Levy for any allergies beforehand."
"Good idea."

Sirius rolled his shoulders and in the blink of an eye a large black dog sat where he had been and it stood up and spun in a circle a few times before it slumped to the ground and lowered his head onto Remus' lap and shut his eyes.

Remus leant his head back and shut his eyes with a yawn.

There was something peaceful about the now. The quiet of the room, the darkness of it all with the dying flicker of the candles Remus could still sense through his eyelids. And if he strained his ears enough he could hear the flicker of the flame, the soft huff of air from Red's parted lips.

He lifted his head to look down at her and he wasn't surprised when he met barely open eyes.

"You're awake again." He muttered and his hand that rested beneath her chin moved to cup her cheek and his thumb brushed over he cheekbone gently. She blinked a few times before responding,
"The floor isn't as comfortable as it was as a cat." She muttered and shut her eyes as she pressed hee cheek into his hand. She opened them again, "which is unfortunate."
"You want to move?" He asked
"Not yet." She whispered and she just stared up at Remus who stared back, "It wasn't a dream was it?"

Remus' brows furrowed,
"What d'you mean?" He asked and she brought her hand up and placed it over Remus'. He bristled at the chill of her fingertips. She seemed shy and as if she wasn't sure what to say and it clicked in Remus' mind and he shook his head gently, "No, not a dream. It was real." He told her ans relief flushed over her face.
"Thank Merlin." She huffed and after turning her head to place a kiss to his palm she sat up and both of their hands fell to the floor where Remus intertwined their fingers.

"This isn't weird is it?" he asked and looked down at their hands.
"It doesn't have to be." Red told him and lifted his hand up and pressed a kiss to the back of it and Remus' cheeks dusted a bright red and Red let out a soft laugh as she brought his hand to her chest, "and if we both really want this it'll work out."

Remus stared at her before a grin split across his face and she leaned forwards and pressed another kiss to his forehead.
"You're very kissy."
"Always have been."

She kissed his cheek and then his forehead again and then his nose.

Remus just held her hand and his face glowed with admiration.
