We arrived at his place not long after.

He had called the lobby about 3 times on our way, reassuring himself that his father wasn't home. It somewhat calmed me down knowing we would be alone, I had no interest in getting to know the man from the elevator.

I had no idea what had happened between them after I left, but knowingly that Kiernan had vanished off the earth surface after their talk gave me enough information.

At first I had been a little discouraged by his aggressive calling habit but I think I understood it now, some things just weren't meant to be shown so early; maybe this was one of the things for him.

As we took the elevator upstairs he was leaning against the wall, looking at me as I was standing across from him. His hands crossed over his chest, his eyes wandering and searching my body and face.
I turned to him, looking away from the reflection in the mirror and realizing the real thing.

"You look beautiful"

My hair was still in the same messy bundle falling all across my head. My eyes puffy from the night. My waterproof mascara less obvious than before but still trapped on my skin. Everything was screaming crusty.

I gave him a shady look and he started laughing. "Alright. For the circumstances?"

I nodded "better".

One of his arms opened and I stepped across the elevator, stopping in front of his body and letting my head drop to his chest.

There was always this warmth he was radiating, though he had this deeply cold and dark aura he was so warm inside. Maybe it was all just a cover, maybe the boy standing across from me had nothing cold inside him.

Though whenever he told me about anything in his life there was always a dark side to it, something deeply heartbreaking. Rather it was someone dying or him being left alone.

So maybe the darkness wasn't much of a cold, but rather a consuming sadness that filled him from the inside?
Either way I wanted the warmth to cover him fully, to go through and through and leave no cold spot of his. To cover any of his wounds and bring him to a peaceful place.

He really deserved that.

No matter how this would go, deep down I think I would always wish him the best. Already for taking care of me that one night.

For just being here, caring about me and taking his time.

His arm came across my back and massaged it slowly as we waited for the elevator to arrive at the top floor. It always took a moment considering how many levels we had to rush up.

When the doors opened I was once again taken back by the immaculate view. This time it was day out and the whole room was light with sunlight, light clouds hanging outside the window and the paintings on the huge walls finally noticeable.

I looked at Kiernan who was already two steps ahead of me, making his way upstairs to his room. I quickly walked after him before the elevator door shut again and I would be left to drive back down in the cold garage.

"I love your apartment" I said as I caught up to him. "I like it more in the dark" "Knew you would say that"

I had really, he was the kind of guy to sleep through the whole day only to do everything at night. Lucky to me a man who can go outside during the late hours of the day without having to fear getting assaulted or robbed.

He opened a door and I was immediately met with his cent fleeing out the room. His windows even bigger than they had looked on the Instagram post. His bed huge and stacked with multiple mattresses that all looked like they would swallow me up.
