"You know what you're doing, right Kishibe?"
You asked as you gave the man a beer.
He took the beer and took a long drink before speaking.
"What I'm doing is trusting you to give them a better life,"
You sighed,
"And you really think I can give that to them? Especially considering what they are and what I used to be?"
"It's exactly because of who you used to be that makes you the perfect fit,"
"I left that life for a reason, you know that,"
You stared into the old man's dead eyes.
"You left because you wanted to help people in another way. And you'll still be doing that,"
He set down his empt mug of beer.
You should've known that you were getting roped into something when you saw the devil hunter walk into your little restaurant.
You'd carved out this nice little life for yourself after you'd reached the abyss of your life, and now you'd be pulled back into that inky void.
But you couldn't turn these children away, even if part of them contained the thing you despised most in the world.
They'd been through so much, the least they deserved was someone who'd watch over them.
With a sigh, you relented.
"Fine. When will I meet them?"
He put some money on the counter as he got out of seat,
"Beginning of next week. They'll meet you here,"
Just before he walked through the door, he paused, his head turning ever so slightly towards you.
"(Y/n)... it was nice seeing you again,"
And then he left.

Denji and Nayuta weren't in the best of spirits. Just a few days ago, Kishibe showed up out of nowhere to tell them they'd be moving, making them quickly pack up all their belongings.
It took them a while to get to where Kishibe instructed, and were confused to find themselves in front of a restaurant.
"Why do we have to be here? I say we just go and get our apartment back,"
"It's too late for the Nayuta, besides, I'm hungry,"
So the two of them walked into the restaurant, their many pets sitting quietly outside.
"Could we get [food] and [food] please?"
Denji felt a tug on his shirt and looked down at Nayuta.
"Ask for [other food] too!"
He sighed and looked back up,
"And [other food] too?"
"I'll get that right for you, take a seat you two,"
You said after writing down their order.
"This place is nice, right Nayuta?"
Denji asked, trying to distract the girl from the fact they just left their home for good.
"I guess so. I liked our house better,"
Hearing this while cooking, you felt slightly irritated.
