Denji and Nayuta woke up to the sounds of pots and pans clanging around in the kitchen, and were led downstairs by an irresistible aroma.

"Morning you two, sleep well?"

The said nothing, carefully peering over your shoulder to see what you were making.

It was a bit awkward just having them stare at you, so you convinced them to get the table ready, using their impending breakfast as a bribe.

As you put the food on their plates, their eyes shone like stars, their rumbling stomachs craving whatever it was you made.

"Thanks for the food!"
They both said before digging in.

"I've already fed the dogs and made your lunches,"
You said, placing down lunchboxes wrapped in colorful cloth.

"I'm going to open up the restaurant now, make sure to lock the door when you leave for school,"

You put the dirty pan in the sink and left the house, leaving the siblings alone.

"This food is way better than what we ate before!"
Nayuta commented between bites.

"Hey, I tried my hardest to make us good food!"
Denji retaliated.

He knew Nayuta was right though.

It was nice having someone cook for him, the last time an adult made meals for him was when...

No, he couldn't think about that right now.

After finishing their meal, the two of them got ready for school, saying goodbye to their pets and then you before leaving.

"You've got kids now?"
A customer noted.

"Yeah I do. Just adopted them yesterday, I hope they'll adapt well,"
You said while chopping up food.

They commented while drinking their coffee,
"You always did seem like the parent type, I'm surprised it took this long,"

"Never really thought I'd be good enough to be one. But it feels nice so far,"

You handed the customer their food,
"Here you go, just the way you like it,"

"Welcome back Nayuta, have fun at school?"

"Mhm. I'm gonna do my homework now,"
She said, immediately going towards the door which led to the house.

There was something up with this girl, besides her being the incarnation of the control devil, she was hiding something else. You didn't really care though, your job wasn't to be concerned about that.

She still didn't trust you though, and quickly re-entered the restaurant to spy on you from a inconspicuous corner.

Just what the hell were you? She couldn't make heads or tails of it at all. No one should be able to put up any resistance, but you shattered the chain!

But no matter how long she waited, no matter how long she watched, all you did was cook. Occasionally you talked with customers, but it was just idle chatter and gossip.
