OMNISCIENT
The next morning came and Neteyam and Au'rai awoke from their slumber. They were both still completely naked so they put their clothes back on, the lack there of, in Au'rais case. It was early in the morning when Neteyam and Au'rai walked hand in hand back to Au'rais home. Since it was still early, not many villagers were up and about in Awa'atlu, but the ones that were up looked at Neteyam and Au'rai in confusion. Au'rai walked nervously, she knew that she and Neteyam had become more careless when it came to showing affection around the village. As Neteyam walked her back home they ran into Jake, who gave them a slightly disapproving look, let's just say Au'rais limping and strange walking didn't go unnoticed.

"Where are you two going?" Jake questioned them.

"I'm walking Au'rai back home" Neteyam spoke "We spent the night together"

"That's for sure" Jake muttered silently to himself. "Neteyam I think it's best if you let Au'rai walk the rest of the way by herself. I need to talk to you"

"What why?" Neteyam asked making Jake give him a stern look.

"I don't think her parents would appreciate you walking her home as much as you think"

"But Dad I-"

"He is right" Au'rai said cutting Neteyam off. She took a hold of Neteyam's arm and turned to face him. "It's okay Nete...I can walk the rest of the way myself" she smiled at her boyfriend reassuringly. Neteyam was hesitant but he nodded his head and gave her a small smile. Jake tilted his head signaling for Neteyam to follow him and he did but not before giving Au'rai one last loving look.

Au'rai continued her way home alone, not missing a single glare or judgmental look thrown at her from the villagers, she couldn't help but to think back at her time in the forest. No one judged her or gave her an ugly look, well no one except for Kyuna but she's irrelevant. Au'rai wondered how she could feel so welcomed and so at home in a place that she wasn't from. As Au'rai approached her home she saw Aonung sittt in front of their families pod, he had his feet dipped in the water and he looked to be deep in thought. Au'rai walked towards him wondering what was going on in her brothers head.

"Hi Nung" she smiled, breaking Aonung out of his thoughts. He gave Au'rai a quick and clearly forced smile before speaking.

"Hello little sister"

"I can sit?"

"Sure" Au'rai took a seat next to Aonung. They sat in silence for a bit til, finally, Au'rai spoke.

"So how was last night? Did you have fun at your celebration?" Au'rai smiled. Aonung sighed before speaking and Au'rai knew immediately that something had happened.

"It was good at first but then it went to...shit" Aonung grumbled. Au'rai, becoming concerned for her brother leaned in closer to him.

"What happened?" Aonung let out a sigh before recapping the night for his younger sister. Well the bad parts of the night.

"I guess Dad found Tsireya and Lo'ak making our or something and they somehow found a way to blame it on me?" Aonung huffed "It's so fucking stupid Au'rai, Das was all like 'Why weren't you watching your sister?' Nobody told me I had to!" Au'rai stayed silent as she watched the anger consume her brother. In the past, Aonung suffered greatly with his anger issues, he got better with time but sometimes it's hard to control himself. "The celebration was for me and Kiri, was it not? So why the fuck would I be looking after Reya? She's old enough to make her own decisions."

"Brother-"

"Oh and that's not even all of it" Aonung scoffed cutting Au'rai off "Kiri went to talk to Rotxo about everything so now according to Mom I chose a "disrespectful mate". It's like I'm getting criticized and blamed for everything when I do nothing! I can't handle all of their stupid expectations anymore" Aonung spoke frustratedly. "They make me...feel like a disappointment"

The young girl would never say anything, but Au'rai knew all too well what Aonung was feeling, for she constantly took the blame for things that had nothing to do with her. She wanted so badly to tell Aonung to suck it up and get over it, like she has been doing for years, but she didn't she loved her brother too much to do that. So she rubbed his back gently in an attempt to sooth him.

"You're not a disappointment Aonung" Aonung stiffened slightly when he felt his little sister cling to his arm and rest her head on his shoulder, after a few moments he relaxed. "You are their only son, their first child, you are the future Olo'eyktan of our clan, you make them more proud than you know brother." Au'rai and Aonung looked at one another and found comfort in each other's presence, it has been a while since the two sat and simply vented to each other.

"Thank you Au'rai, that means a lot." Aonung wrapped his arm around Au'rai and held her close. "I know I'm not the best brother sometimes but-"

"No, don't say that" Au'rai shook her head. "You are my perfect brother Aonung. You've been more of a father to me than Dad ever has"

"W-what?" Aonung felt shocked at his sisters words, she had never been so open with him before. Au'rai sighed before continuing.

"D-do you remember a night about six years ago? I was eight and you were like ten. Mom and Dad were out on a battle and they had to leave us home alone, it was raining a lot that day and there was thunder and lightning" Au'rai took a breath "I was so scared, I felt like there was only darkness around me, but...there you were" Au'rai smiled at her brother "You hugged me, told me stories, and you told me everything would be alright, you made all of the darkness go away."

Aonung began to tear up a little bit as he held Au'rai closely to him. He knew deep down it was true. Anytime that his younger sister would come home crying because someone had picked on her, he was always the one to comfort her, not his mom or his dad, him. He was the one who taught Au'rai how to ride an ilu, he taught her how to fish, he taught her to be fearless.

Aonung no longer saw Au'rai as a sister. He saw her something deeper. Something more close and more a part of him.

Hope you like it! I just really wanted to write more and Au'rais and Aonung's relationship as siblings. They're my faves 😪. But like I said last time enjoy all this sweet stuff while you can because it's about to get bleak up in here 😭🤭.
