Sean pov.
I watched some of (y/n)'s stream. She was visibly very relieved to finally be back. And their viewers were also happy that they finally got a stream again. They were also very understandable about the reason for their absence. Most donors wrote her messages like "We hope you have fully recovered". I was so happy for her. Things finally seemed to be looking up in her life.
I worked all Friday evening preparing for the event. I also had to pack my bags. It was only 2 days, but I still didn't want to forget anything. (y/n) and I texted back and forth a bit after her stream. I asked her if she wanted to talk on Discord but unfortunately, she had to decline. "I still have to work on a few things for school. I don't want to have to do everything tomorrow, I want to enjoy the weekend." I understood that. "Okay, then we'll talk on Sunday when I get back from Germany." "Agreed. Looking forward to it."
Saturday my alarm went off at 3 a.m. My flight would be in less than 3 hours. I took a shower, got dressed and called a cab. At the airport, as usual, I was always recognized by some fans. So I did a little fan management while I waited. I met some people who were also going to the event in Germany and we had a little chat.
One of them suddenly asked me if I was really there when (y/n) had the accident. "I saw a video and the guy who immediately ran over and helped looks just like you." I thought briefly about how I should respond to that. I didn't want people to try to get more information through me. And I didn't want there to be any rumours about a possible relationship. Even though I already knew that those were already making the rounds anyway. "(y/c/n)? Accident? Yes, I heard about it, but...I wasn't there. I hope she's feeling better." I got some incredulous looks at first, but after that they seemed to accept the answer. "She had her first stream since the accident yesterday, so she seems to be doing better." "That's good to hear." "Didn't you ask her if she wanted to record something with you?" "I have. But that hasn't happened yet. We write on Discord every now and then, but nothing more."
I was happy when the gate opened a few minutes later. I felt like I was being cross-examined. I couldn't believe they believed me not to be the guy from the video. I already had a feeling that these guys wouldn't be the only ones to ask such questions. Fortunately, no such questions had arisen at the event in the UK, but by then the accident had already passed some time. Her first stream yesterday brought the whole thing back to attention. And of course, people then rewatched the videos of the accident.
I decided to tell (y/n) about it. I frantically typed the message on my phone before I had to turn it off.
"Hey, I'm on my way to Germany right now. There was a guy here at the airport who asked me if I was there when your accident happened. I'm sure you've already noticed that there are videos of it. We should talk about how to deal with this. I'll let you know when I turn my phone back on."
After I sent it, I turned off my phone.

Sean called me a few hours later. I already knew what he was going to say. And he was right: he would certainly get enough questions similar to those from the airport chatter.
"As far as I'm concerned, we can make it public that we met and are friends...But nothing more", I said. "Is it really okay for you if I told people we're friends and that I was there when the accident happened?" "Yes", I said carefully. "I promise, I won't answer any questions regarding the accident or anything like that." "Please...I beg you." "Nobody will hear anything about it from me." "Thanks." "So...how are you?", he asked after a brief moment of awkward silence. "I'm fine. I managed to finish all of my schoolwork yesterday so I can enjoy the rest of the weekend to the fullest." "That's great." "Yeah, it is. I need that free time to clean my apartment, get groceries and maybe I'll stream today or tomorrow." "You should. You had a pretty great stream yesterday." "You watched it?" "I had it open while doing some editing." "Oh..."
"Anyways...I wanted to ask you, if you wanted to go on a picnic on Monday after school." I knew it was coming. And I was glad he asked cause I wanted to see him again. "Technically you've already asked me that question..." "I know, but..." "I think we should do something different. Don't get me wrong, I love picnics. It's just...last time we wanted to go on a picnic-date, I was run over by a car." I came prepared. I trained myself that sentence to make it come across as casually as possible. I wanted to pretend that I wasn't nervous about it. "You're probably right. I don't want it to be...wait...did you just use the word 'date'?" Sean sounded incredibly confused but also super excited at the same time. "I did." "So you're okay with going on a date with me..." "Of course I am." I was blushing so hard. I was so glad Sean could not see it through the phone as well as not hearing my heart beeping as loud as a hammer. "That's great. I'll think about something else other than a picnic. We can text later about it. Right now I have to prepare for my first show." "When are you going on stage?" "I think around 3pm." "Will it be broadcasted?" "I don't know yet..." "Text me if it is, then I'll watch it." "Uff...Then I'll get stage fright knowing such a wonderful lady watches me..." "Yeah. I'll watch your every move and judge you. You'll get a full detailed review after...", I joked. He laughed. "Okay (y/n). I really need to get going. I might be able to catch some sleep before going to the event. I'm really tired." "Okay. We can talk tomorrow evening." "Sounds good."
Some part of me was sad that I could not go with Sean. We would have had a lot of fun. But I was stuck at home after that accident. At least school was bearable. My classmates were not as bad as they used to be. (y/b/n)'s friends changed the most out of all of them. They try to avoid me as much as possible. "I hope it stays that way", I thought. I was scared everything would go back to normal after the trial. I was still waiting for a date. The letter should arrive any day now. And then I could finally leave that behind me and move on.
Sean pov.
I was on stage. I was doing my show and then the Q&A started. "Okay guys, before we go into the Q&A, I wanted to get something off my chest. I can imagine that some of you want to ask me if I'm friends with (y/c/n) or (y/n) as her real name is. The answer is: yes, we are friends. And before some of you start to spread any rumours, I want to make one thing clear: No, we didn't plan to keep it a secret. We just haven't gotten around to record the planned videos yet. As you may or may not know, she had a serious accident a few weeks ago. I'm also not going to answer any questions regarding her accident. I was there - but I don't want to say anything more about it. Please respect that she doesn't want to talk about it at this moment in time." It was quiet for a moment, and you could hear whispers coming from everywhere. Then I finally said "Okay, let's start with the Q&A." And to my surprise, everyone was heeding my request.
