NICHOLAS ACCARDI
"I want to visit a therapist."Nicholas hear Sienna say after noticing her hesitating eyes from last one hour. And suddenly his head snaps in his wife's direction. Sienna's trying hard to look normal, while looking down at the breakfast on the dinning table in front of her but her tone and expressions says otherwise.
And by her expression, Nicholas can easily make out how hard she is trying to not cry, in front of him. And suddenly he remembers her words from the other day, "God, i just hate to be so weak." That's what Sienna said when she was crying, because according to her sick mother crying is a sign of weakness. Oh, how bad Nicholas wanted to burn her parents alive.
"Come here, Tesoro mio." Nicholas whispered softly and watched Sienna getting up from her chair and watched her standing in front of him.
Nicholas held her wrist and pulled her on his lap.
Sienna instantly wrapped her arms around his neck and breathed in his familiar and comforting scent.
"I'm so proud of you. And i'm so happy to know that you're finally doing something for yourself. You're the strongest woman, Sienna." Nicholas whispered softly while rubbing Sienna's back and pulling her closer.
And in response Sienna only rubbed her face on his chest, like an affectionate kitten, which made him smile.
"But i want to know, what suddenly happened? i even noticed that you are still in the same mood as last night, are you still thinking about what happened in the reception area with Massimo? Is it still triggering you?" Nicholas asked softly trying to know the reason behind this big decision of his wife.
"I ... um ... No." Sienna said and looked into his eyes, her face looked as if she was in physical pain because she wasn't able to say what she wanted to say or rather she didn't know how to say it.
"Tell me, baby?" Nicholas asked and encouraged her to talk her heart out. "Should i call Penelope? Maybe you'll feel comfortable telling her?" Nicholas asked knowing damn well his heart was breaking just thinking about the fact that he has to get Penelope to make Sienna talk about her problem, but he was ready to do so if that made his wife comfortable.
"No." Sienna said firmly and then continued, "I want to tell you." She said and tried to scoot closer to him as if there was still some space left between those two.
"I'm right here." Nicholas said, trying to encourage her and felt happy that she was trying too.
"I ... Nicholas, i want to go to ... therapist, because last night... i misunderstood you." Sienna said on the verge of crying.
"Tesoro mio, that's not a big deal, really. You know no relationship is perfect, but we're trying right? And i don't mind, genuinely." Nicholas tried to explain that he was not angry with her anymore.
"No, you don't understand. You.... you're here trying to make me happy, make me feel secure but .... but i am ruining it all by ... questioning it." Nicholas tried to interrupt her but Sienna said firmly, "I know you said i can question you, but questioning and not trusting are two different things, Nicholas. What i did last night... was not trusting you."
"But that's not your fault, Sienna. That happened because you've been betrayed before, so many times." Nicholas tried to argue.
