CHAPTER 17: KANAN'S RETURN TO SUMMER COVE

While I was sorting out some stuff before I left the building...Roxy came into the lab. "Hey Roxy" I greeted. "What's up?" Blaze asked. "The Commander said that we can have the day off" Roxy said. "Really" Natsuo said as Roxy nodded her head. All of us were planning on what we are going to do today. 

"Well...I'm going to Riptide Gym" Ravi said. "I can go with you" Blaze said. "Me too" Roxy said as the two of them agreed. "I'm going to stay here to sort out some stuff and Steel is going to help me out" Nate said. "What about you Kanan, Natsuo?" Roxy asked. "I think that I'm going to Summer Cove and see how my dad's doing since I haven't been there in a while" I said. "Is it alright if I come with you?" Natsuo asked. "Yeah...see you guys later" I said as me and Natsuo left the base.

<TIME SKIP>

Once the two of us arrived at Summer Cove, me and Natsuo left the bus station. "Am I going to meet your dad?" Natsuo asked. "Yeah, you're going to be meeting my dad" I said as Natsuo noticed someone by his car in the front of the bus station. "Isn't that the guy over there dating your dad?" Natsuo asked. "Yeah, he is. Come on...I'll introduce you" I said. The two of us were walking over to him. "Hey Dane...it's been a while" I said as I smiled a little. "It sure has Kanan, who's your new friend" Dane said. "Dane, this is Natsuo Todoroki. Natsuo, this is Dane Romero" I said. "It is nice to meet you sir" Natsuo said as the two of them shook hands.

"It's nice to meet you too. Come on, Brody, Levi and your dad are waiting for your arrival" Dane said as the three of us went into his car. After a while...the three of us arrived at our house. All of us got out of his car and started to head towards the door to go inside. 

"Hey...I'm back" Dane said. Dane went to where the others were sitting. "Hey Dane" my dad replied. "Where did you head off too?" Brody questioned. "Yeah" Levi said. Me and Natsuo stood by the wall. "I had to do something. Hey Brian, what's the one thing that you want to see right now?" Dane asked. "I want to see my daughter again so that I can surprise her with something since it was her birthday a couple of weeks ago" my dad said. 

"Wait here a minute" Dane said as he left the room. "Are you ready to see your dad again" Dane said. "I'm ready" I said. The two of us went into the living area. "Let's take a family picture for the fireplace. Natsuo, can you take the picture for us" Dane said as Natsuo nodded his head. Natsuo took the picture as I stood behind my dad, Dane, Brody and Levi.

After Natsuo took the picture, he showed the others the picture that Natsuo took for them. They were looking at the photo and it was a good one. Brody turned around cause he thought he saw something that was behind him. Before he turned back around, he noticed me. "Kanan! You're here!" Brody said as he came round and hugged me. Then my dad and Levi noticed me too.

Levi and my dad hugged me as well. "I thought that I never see you again" my dad said as he was still hugging me. "I was thinking the same thing since I had a day off from the agency so I wanted to come and visit you" I said. My dad was looking at Natsuo. "You must be Natsuo Todoroki, right. Kanan told me all about you" my dad said. "It's nice to meet you Mr Matthews" Natsuo said.

<TIME SKIP A LITTLE BIT MORE>

After the eventful day and explained to them that I am doing another secret mission, me and Natsuo were heading back to Coral Harbor. "I told you I would visit again. Also, sorry that I couldn't visit for Christmas last year" I said. "It's ok. You were really busy" Levi said. "Yeah" Brody said. "Oh, before I forget. Here you go" I said. "What is it?" my dad asked. "Plane tickets to Kyushu?" Dane questioned. "Yeah. So you can visit me, Keigo, Rose and Ren for Christmas" I said. "We will definitely come and visit" my dad said. 

"Well...it's time go" I said. "Yeah" Natsuo said. "See you soon. I'm going to be watching you and Keigo on TV when the Japanese Hero Billboard Chart comes on" my dad said as they are waving after the two of us got on the bus back to Coral Harbor.
