CHAPTER 35: FAMILY BONDING TIME FOR THE TAKAMI SIBLINGS

I was waiting outside Grid Battleforce for Kenzie to arrive. Ravi and Roxy were about to walk into the building when they saw me standing on the sidewalk. "Hey Kanan" Ravi and Roxy greeted at me. "Hey guys" I greeted back. "What's with the luggage? Are you going to leave like Nate was about to?" Roxy said. "No...I'm not leaving at all. Me and my sister are about to head to Kyushu for a trip" I said.

Your sister?" Roxy questioned, sceptically. "Oh, since I'm married to Hawks and he has a sister, which makes her my sister in law" I said as they nodded their heads in understanding. "Oh, good. I thought you were leaving permanently. Have fun on your trip" Ravi said as the two of them were heading inside when Kenzie arrived.

"Hey Kenzie" I greeted. "Hey Kanan" Kenzie greeted back as I put my luggage in the back of the car and then I got into the car. "Why are we heading to Kyushu?" Kenzie asked. "If I told you, it would ruin the surprise" I said. The two of us got to the airport and we were checking in so that the two of us can go to Fukuoka, Kyushu.  

After a while of waiting, the announcement for our plane that's heading to Kyushu arrived and people were boarding the plane. The two of us got onto the plane and sat in our assigned seats as we are heading towards Kyushu.

<AFTER ARRIVING IN KYUSHU>

After we left the airport, the two of us were about to look for Keigo, Rose and Ren. "Where are they? He told me that the three of them would be here by now" I said as I looked around the parking lot. "Let's go and find him" Kenzie said. The two of us were still trying to find the three of them. Kenzie spotted Keigo, Rose and Ren in front of his car. "Hey little bro" Kenzie greeted as I turned round to walk up to the four of them by the car. "Hi sis" Keigo greeted back. "Hi aunt Kenzie" Rose and Ren greeted as the two of them were waving at her. "Hi Rose, Ren" Kenzie greeted as she waved back.

"Mommy, what's the surprise?" Rose asked. "Yeah, I really want to know too" Ren said. "Me too" Keigo said. "Let's go in the car cause it's going to take a while" I said. All of us got into the car as the five of us left the airport to head to the surprise destination. "Do you know what the surprise is Keigo?" Kenzie asked. "Not at all. Kanan won't tell me" Keigo said as I was smiling a little as I looked out the window.

Just before we got to the location, I told Keigo to park up in the nearby space. All of us got out the car. "Why are we standing here?" Kenzie asked. "Before all of us go around this corner, I need you two to put these on" I said as I handed Keigo and Kenzie the blindfolds. "Ok then" Keigo said as the two of them put blindfolds over their eyes. Me, Rose and Ren were guiding the duo around the corner and all of us stood in front of a house. 

"What's the one thing that you two want to see again?" I asked. "Our parents...why?" Kenzie said. "Yeah, we really would like to see them again" Keigo said. "You two can take off your blindfolds now" I said. The two of them took off their blindfolds to get their vision back before looking at the house in front of us. The two of them were looking at the house. "Is this..." Kenzie started to say. "...Our old house?" Keigo said. "Yeah, your parents told me where you two used to live" I said. 

"After we go into the house, take your coats and shoes off, ok" I said. "Ok mommy" Rose and Ren said. All of us started to head towards the house. I opened the door and all of us went inside and took our coats and shoes off. "Is this where you two lived?" Rose asked. "I can smell some really great food" Ren said. "Yeah, this is where we grew up" Keigo said. "It's certainly has been a while" Kenzie said. "I see where the two of them are" I said as I went towards the kitchen while the others sat down on the sofa.

I saw Tomie and Kyojuro talking while the two of them were making lunch as I said something to get their attention. "That smells really good" I said as the two of them turned around to see me standing in the doorway. "Hey Kanan. It's been a while" Kyojuro said as he came up to me and hugged me. "It certainly has. The last time I saw you was when me and you mother sent you and Keigo to the commission" Tomie said. "Yeah...it's good to see you two again" I said as me and Tomie hugged as well. "Where's Keigo and Kenzie?" Kyojuro asked. "They're sitting in the next room" I said as the three of us were heading towards the seating area.

"Are you ready to see your parents again?" I asked. "Yeah" Keigo and Kenzie said. I moved out of the way so that Tomie and Kyojuro came into the room. Keigo and Kenzie looked like they were about to cry. The four of them were hugging each other. "It's good to see you two again. It looks like you two have grown up" Tomie said. "We're so proud of you two" Kyojuro said as the two of them smiled a little. I introduced Rose and Ren to the two of them.

"Tomie, Kyojuro...this is mine and Keigo's kids, Rose and Ren" I said. Tomie and Kyojuro sat on the sofa while the two of them looked at Rose and Ren. "It's nice to finally meet the two of you" Tomie said. "The two of us heard about you two from Keigo and Kanan" Kyojuro said. "Nice to meet you grandma, grandpa" Rose said. "We've brought you two a gift. Hope you two like it" Ren said as the two of them gave them their gifts, which they really like. 

Rose and Ren got picked up by Tomie and Kyojuro and the two of them sat on their knee. "What you two been up to?" Kyojuro asked the two of them. "Well, I'm a owner of a Pro Hero shop in Blue Bay Harbor and Reefside and I was thinking about expanding it to different countries" Kenzie asked. "Well...other than going on lots of missions with Kanan as Pro Heroes...I'm doing really well" Keigo said. I looked on top of the fireplace to see mine, Keigo and Kenzie's accomplishments.

"I see you got all our achievements" I said. "Yeah, once you three made it onto the newspaper, the two of us save them and put them in a frame" Tomie said. "Hey Kanan, do you have that photo book of your family in it by any chance?" Kyojuro asked. "Yeah, I got it here with me. Do you want to have a look?" I said. "Yeah, if that's alright with you" Tomie said. 

I gave them the book that has my family photos in them. Tomie, Kyojuro and Kenzie were looking through the book. "Who's he?" Kenzie asked. I looked at the picture Kenzie was pointing at. "Oh, that's Dane Romero. He and my dad are getting married really soon" I replied. "The two guys by him, are they his kids?" Kyojuro asked. "Yeah, those two are Brody and Levi" I said.

"When are they getting married?" Tomie asked. "In a year I think. I'll make sure that you guys get invited to the wedding" I said as they nodded. "We can't wait" Kyojuro said. "Who wants some lunch?" Tomie asked. "Yeah, I am getting kinda hungry" I said as the others agreed. After we had lunch, all of us were outside while Rose and Ren were playing on the grass.

<TIME SKIP>

All of us were getting ready for bed. Kenzie went into her room, Tomie and Kyojuro went into their room, Rose and Ren were sharing a room as me and Keigo went into his room. "What a day" I said. "I know right" Keigo said as the two of us were laying down in bed. "Did you like the surprise?" I asked. "Yeah, I really did songbird" Keigo said as he kissed my forehead. The two of us drifted off to sleep.
