Nick paused for a second taken a back for a second by what he said , i mean he knew he'd said it before but for some reason this time felt different ; it felt more intimate and more real. "I said i love you Charlie...and I really do. The fact you still love me after everything i've told you means so much" Nick said with a slight shake to his voice. Charlie paused with slight confusion on his face "Nick of course I still love you why wouldnt i youre still my handsome charming rugby boy. You being trans doesnt change how i see you".
Nick sighed for so long his gender identity had been an issue to everyone around him except maybe his mother. People didnt know how to treat him so they just treated him like an outcast. They didnt realise that most trans people just want to be treated like normal people and if anything him being treated so differently made him feel worse. He pulled Charlie into a hug "Thanks Char...you mean everything to me" Nick said gently. Charlie happily returned the hug and have Nick a small kiss on the cheek "You really dont have to thank me Nick...honestly im surprised anyone would treat you differently" .
Nick wiped a small tear from his face as he looked up at Charlie "Honestly you'd be surprised the amount of people that do once they find out".
Charlie sighed and looked at Nick, he didn't know what to think, where people really that ignorent? Charlie always knew the issues homophobia caused but he didn't realise that trans people could be treated so differently.
Nick gently sighed and looked at Charlie "Anyway enough of that topic... I dont like talking about it a lot unless it's relevant obviously".
Charlie smiled and nodded "Alright I get it".
For a while Nick and Charlie just sat alone laughing and smiling like they always did, nothing had changed between them their love and energy was still the same. Nick and Charlie were always going to be Nick and Charlie.
