Tess' POV

Once we get to school I find jade and we walk to class together. if your wondering Jade does know about the abuse, she basically figured it out by her self. anyways, once we get to class we sit down in our normal seats, in the back of the classroom. About 3 minutes after we sit down, the bell rings and the teacher walks into class. today we had a sub, Ms. Erica was sick at home with the flu. "Hello class, I'm Mr.Len, and I will be your sub while ms. Erica is homesick." he begins "ok first is roll call" he finishes he then starts naming off people in the class "Ally Olsen" "here" "Ashton Marks" "whatever" "Catherine Mack" "here" "Olivia Kaleb" "present" and so on. once he finally gets to me Jade answers for me "here" she says "ms. Jade, is it, you can't answer for another student, I assume ms. Tess has skipped class today?" The teacher states "actually, sir," she begins "she is right over there, and I think it's very disrespectful for a teacher to criticize me for helping my mute friend be counted for role call" she mocks, the whole class starts to laugh, except the teacher. "ok everyone calm down," the teacher states "is this true ms. Tess, you are mute?" I nod and notice the bad boy, Ashton marks, starring right at me.

"Ms. Jade, Ms. Tess, detention at 3 o'clock sharp!" The sub says furiously. fear grew in my eyes, fathers not gonna like this! "But Mr. Len - Tess has a-a doctors appointment after school today, she can't make it" Jade pleads "detention at 3 o'clock, and that's final ms. Jade" he replies. then the bell rings, I rush out of the classroom and to my locker. "I'm sorry Tess, I didn't mean for you to get I. Trouble too" she pleads. I fake a smile, and the see the ad boy Ashton coming right towards us. Please don't talk to me, please don't talk to me! Plays through my head. "hey Tess, Jade" he begins "what do you want dimbo?" Jade asks furiously. "chill, I just wanted to know if Tess, here, would like to Have lunch with me and my friends?" He states "would you?" I looked down at my feet and Ashton gets the idea "if you want to you can, if you don't I'd be happy to sit with you." He states I smile a weak smile at him to indicate I was fine with that, then he replies "great, see you there" the. Walks away. well that was weird
