Chapter 26

Ry's POV

"Auntie is that Auntie Ry on the phone. Can I speak with her please?" Asked a little 9-year-old boy.

"Of course, you can baby. She misses you so much." Rylie said.

The phone was passed over to Joe said. "Auntie Ry I miss you so much. Guess what? I get to sing in the school play, and I got the leading part like you and mommy and daddy used to. Are you proud of me?"

I laughed and I noticed that the doors to the bus opened up. I didn't see who came out because I was facing the other way and I said, "I'm so proud of you buddy. I hope you do a wonderful job. I'm so sorry that I haven't been about to see you but once this tour is over with, I'll come see you as soon as I can. I love you so much."

"Do you love me for than Uncle Cody?" Joe asked me.

That broke my heart because I knew in a way, I was betraying him and them all at once. I drew in a deep breath and said, "I'll always love Uncle Cody, your mommy and daddy. But I found someone else. I want you and your Auntie to meet him when I'm in your area okay."

"Really? Does he treat you like the queen that you are?" asked Joey.

I smiled and said, "He's trying to. I'm trying to be happy again. I know that you want me to be happy and safe."

"Of course, I do. That's what Uncle Cody told me to do. He told me to keep you safe and sound. But I didn't do suck a good job with the bad guy that you were with did I." Joey said.

I felt the tears come but I held back a sob and said, "You did good. I promise you that no one knew what type of person he was. He's gone. Listen buddy I have to go, but I'll be able to see you real soon. After all I already put in a request to leave for that day."

"Really. You're going to come with us to visit mommy, daddy and uncle Cody?" Asked Joey.

"Yes, baby I promise. I'll be there soon." I told him. He handed to the phone back to his aunt. I sighed and said, "Rylie I'll see you soon okay."

"I know Ry. just remember to breathe when your bus drives pass okay." Rylie told me.

We hung up and I leaned against the bus. I knew someone was watching me. I just didn't feel like talking right now. The bus doors opened, and Emily said, "Ry come on. We need to get ready. Chris your phone keeps ringing."

I glanced at Chris. I sighed and got up. I went to walk pass and he grabbed my arm that I cut the night before. I winced and he noticed. I pulled my arm away and glared at him.

"Ry what-" he started to say.

"Look, I just need to get ready. We can talk later," which I knew was a lie.

I wouldn't be able to talk about what was going on inside of my head. I couldn't. What I was thinking about happened after Devin left. I walked away from Chris. When Blaze seen me, he knew something was wrong, but he didn't know what it was. I grabbed some clothes and changed into them.

I walked out of the bathroom once my makeup was done. I went to get off from the bus and Blaze looked at me and said, "What's going on?"

I glared at him and said, "Nothing. I'm fine okay. God why does everyone think there is something wrong when there isn't. Damnit. I thought you would know me better enough to know that I'm fine."

Blaze sighed and he looked at me and said, "It had something to do with that phone call didn't it."

I glared at him and said, "It's nothing. I'm going to go for a walk. Now leave me alone. I'll see you on stage."

I walked past him this time. I walked off from the bus and walked. I didn't go too far. Just far enough that no one would hear me. I sighed and pulled my phone out. They would all know what's wrong with me when they see this. I pulled up the video and started to record myself singing Like you by Evanescence. Once I finished it I posted the video to be put out at 11pm tonight. I wanted to wait until everyone was asleep when it would be out.

Two hours later we were jamming out on stage. But I noticed that my friends were watching me from the corner of their eyes. I sighed and looked away and just played. When we were finally done, I walked off from stage and I headed back to the bus, as I was walking, I saw Chris talking to Ash. I knew that I needed to trust him this time around. I just kept on walking.

When I was able to crawl into my bunk my parents called me.

"Ry how are you holding up?" asked dad.

"I'm okay. Just hating what tomorrow is going to be." I told him.

Blaze didn't know about what happened before I met him. He didn't know about Joey and Rylie. My ex thought that they were just some family members of mine because Joey calls me aunty. I was technically I was his aunt. I was going to marry Cody. He asked me and I said yes. Cody was Joey's father's brother. The four of us used to be inseparable. Devin never asked about them when he came back into my life. It shows how much he's paying attention to me.

"Ry did you tell Devin about them?" Asked my mother.

I didn't say anything, and she sighed and said, "When are you going to learn that you need to open up to them. Blaze won't be able to help you with this one."

I knew she was right. I sighed and let the tears fall and said, "I don't want to talk about them to anyone. I don't want Devin to know what happened. He hasn't asked about where they are. He knew everything."

Yes, my brother knew. He knew that my boyfriend asked me to marry him. Then when I came to visit him, he never once asked me about Cody. It broke my heart even more. I broke down and touched the ring I never took off. I never wore it on my ring finger.

"Ry, you need to talk to him." Said my mother.

I hung up on them. My mother could be understanding at times but not with this. I walked into the bathroom on the bus and took off my top and looked at my tattoo on my shoulder with a rose with three names in each pedal. We each had one that was similar to one another. Mine was a purple rose with falling pedals. I kept it hidden as much as I could. We each had one done.

"Ry? Ry, please talk with me," called Chris from the outside the door.
