Chapter 29
Ry's POV
I looked at Chris and said, "We never got the call that they made it to the venue. I was crushed. We went to the hospital, and I got to see him one last time. Cody told me to live and find someone new to love. I tried that with my ex. I miss him every day, Cody also made me promise to look after his nephew."
I heard Chirs breathe and he said, "How close where they to the venue?"
I looked at him and said, "Ten minutes away. They were ten minutes away from that venue when they were hit by the drunk driver. I didn't know how far at first but sometime later I found out. After their funeral most of their friends, that I wasn't friends with blamed me. Saying that it was my fault that they were dead. Jason and Rylie stuck up for me but I didn't listen to them. That was when I started to slip away from everyone. Then I met my ex and you know what happened from their."
I felt Chris wrap his arms around and he kissed my cheek and said, "I remember that night. People were shouting and about a car crash. The cops were out front of the venue. We couldn't preform. It was a week later that they released that the three people in that car was going to see us. Then I think I met Jason before, he came with two girls. They asked if we could play city lights, I asked why and they told me. I told them I would. They held a sign and it had three people on their. I remember one of the girls saying that the one without a jacket was still alive but she was lost. That night I saw them in them and held a phone up. I sang city lights."
I felt the tears coming down my face and said, "Jason and Rylie went with a friend. They had me on the phone when you were singing. I felt better every time I heard that song. I left a voice mail for Devin and he never returned them that night. That was when I started to give up on my brother. Then my ex came into the picture."
"Auntie Ry. Auntie Ry." Yelled a little boy.
I looked over and saw Joey. I smiled as he ran over to me. I picked him up and said, "Hey baby how are you."
"I'm not a baby anymore. I'm big like daddy was. Isn't that right auntie Rylie." Joey said.
Joey looked so much like his father and his uncle, but he had his mother's black hair and green eyes. Rylie looked at me with her short white hair and greens eyes and said, "Hey sis."
I walked over to her and hugged her with Joey being in the middle. Joey looked be hind me and said, "Aunty who is that tall dude behind you?"
I laughed and said, "That's my boyfriend Chris. Chris this is Joey and Rylie. Joey, Rylie, this is Chris."
Rylie glared at him and said, "You. I should have known it was you that she would have ended up with. But did you really-"
I put my hand around her mouth and shook my head no at her.
"Fine. But you and I need to talk mr. metal boy." Rylie said.
I forgot that Rylie could be blunt and or have no filter on her. I sighed again and looked at Chris and said, "You better go with her and talk. I'll be right here with this little monster."
Chris POV
Ry has been acting weird and when we walked into the cemetery it all made sense. I know I've meet Jason before, but I couldn't remember when. My heart broke when she told me that she was going to be married but then a drunk driver ruin all of that. Then she met her ex. Everything made sense why she really was pissed off at Ghost.
Rylie was someone that seemed to take no shit from anyone. I followed her and left Ry with the little boy. We walked a few rows down and Rylie stopped and looked over at Ry. She looked at her and watch her play with Joey. Then I saw it. The first real smile on her face. I haven't seen her smile like that since I met her.
"Chris, you know what happened to my friends right? Ry is the only one left out of the four of them. She was in love with Cody. They were planning a wedding, and they were planning to have a child. She wanted to be a mother for the longest time. But then Cody died, and she met that asshole. She told me that she was forced to sleep with him. She told me everything about what happened. I love her as if she, no she is my sister. I don't want nothing happening to her. Please make her happy. That's all I'm asking," Rylie told me.
I looked at her and said, "I love your sister with all my heart. I think I know what I said to get her upset. Rylie it might take time before she's truly happy again."
I heard her sigh and said, "I know you're right. I want her to fully heal from everything that life has thrown her way. I know about the pack. I'm not sure if you know that Blaze and she have a deal going on or not, but she told me about it. Yet she also told me that she loves you and she feels like she's cheating on him with being with another. So, show her that she can love again."
I glanced over at Ry and noticed that her and Joey were sitting down and talking to the headstones. I knew people do this when they miss someone. I just watched her and when she glanced at me I could tell that she was happy.
"I'll try. That's all I can promise for now. You should have told me long ago that the girl in the picture was Ghost's little sister, then I would have forced him to call his family," I told her.
Rylie laughed and said, "Yeah I know you're right, but we weren't thinking at the time, and we didn't tell Ry where we were going until we got there. Chris we were all grieving over our friends and loved ones."
It all made sense. No one knew what drove her into his arms. No one knew why she was doing drugs and harming herself. They knew part of the reason but not the full reason. Now I knew her pain went deeper than anyone knew.
