Chapter 12: Failed Experiments

After Marty recounted his story he then showed Doc, Chris and O'Connor the photos of the tombstones and they were shocked at what they saw in both photographs while Marty was given clothes that actually fit in 19th century Hill Valley better the outfit he wore when he first arrived, he was given a white shirt, brown jacket, slacks and a proper cowboy hat.

Shot in the back by Buford Tannen, over a matter of 80 dollars?! said Doc as saw the photo

Oh man, this is terrible!! said Chris

I know, now I wish I paid him off said Doc "and who's this beloved Clara?, I don't know anyone named Clara"

I don't know Doc, I thought maybe she was a girlfriend of yours said Marty

Woah woah! hold on!, Doc has a girlfriend?! ooh! Doc you sly dog! said Chris

Oh Chris come on, my involvement in such a social relationship here in 1885, could result in a disruption in the space time continuum said Doc "as a scientist I could never take that risk, clearly not after we've already been through"

Then suddenly a wagon pulled up outside the shop and it was the mayor Hubert Thomas, a descendent of Red Thomas the mayor of Hill Valley in 1955.

Excuse me, Emmett, do you remember last week at the town meeting you volunteered to greet the new schoolteacher at the station when she came in? asked Hubert

Oh yes, quite so said Doc

Well we'd just gotten word, she's coming in tomorrow said Hubert "here are the details for you, thanks for all your help"

Anytime, Hubert said Doc

Oh, her name's Ms. Clayton, Clara Clayton said Hubert as he left

After the mayor left Doc suddenly put two and two together and realized that "this beloved Clara" was the teacher he was going to meet later on today

Well Doc, now we know who Clara is said Marty

Marty, it's impossible the idea of me falling in love at first sight is romantic nonsense, there's no scientific rationale for that said Doc

Oh come on Doc, it's not science you meet the right girl it just hits you it's lightning said Marty

Yeah, I mean I'm 13 years old and I already got my eye on one girl, the feeling just hits you like a storm said Chris

Boys, please don't say that said Doc

That's the way it was for me and Jennifer, we couldn't keep our eyes of each other said Marty

Suddenly Marty and Chris were reminded of their friends and loved ones they left behind in the alternate 1985 where Biff controlled everything, Marty was worried about his girlfriend and Chris was worried about his friends that he left behind.

God, Jennifer, I hope she's alright Doc, I believe we just left her there on the porch said Marty

Yeah, I hope Billy and Hawn are okay I can't believe I just left them behind like that said Chris

Don't worry boys, they'll be fine said Doc "when Marty burnt the almanac in 1955 the normal timeline was restored that means once we're back in 1985 you have just to go to Jennifer's house to wake her up"

Doc was suddenly interrupted by the sound of a loud whistle and it was one of Doc's inventions, Marty turned a valve, O'Connor checked the temperature gauge, Chris got a bowl and put it underneath a large tube and finally Doc pulled a lever and some cold steam came out through the tube and a small cube of ice fell into the bowl, Doc then picked it up with some tweezers and put it in a beaker that had some cold tea, Doc had just invented iced tea.
