Tonight was Christmas Eve, while in the town of Hill Valley all the people were in their houses celebrating the holiday with their families having a Christmas feast, over at the McCarlin Farm, 12 year old O'Connor McCarlin was celebrating the holiday by himself, his Mean Old Aunt McCarlin didn't even bother to celebrate the holiday, she didn't even put any decorations, or get any presents tonight she was spending Christmas Eve at the saloon drinking and gambling.

So O'Connor decided to celebrate the holidays by decorating the only part of the house that his aunt had forbidden him to enter, the upstairs attic, with a single red candle he went upstairs to the attic and sat at his late father's piano, his father and mother had died four years prior in a train derailment accident, but O'Connor remembered the last Christmas he spent with them, every Christmas his parents would take him with them to the theatre to watch them perform in the Hill Valley Orchestra, his mother would play the violin and his father would play the piano, his father taught him to play the piano at a young age now he practiced in private.

O'Connor then put his fingers on the keys and started playing the only Christmas Carol he knew "Hark the Herald Angels Sing"

As he played he started thinking about the future, the last two years had been nothing but miserable, he'd suffered both verbal and physical abuse from his aunt Margaret every single day, while most kids would want toys for Christmas O'Connor wanted one thing: a family, he hoped that one day his Christmas wish would come true, after he finished playing he looked over on the piano where he put a picture of his parents, then the grandfather clock in the corner of the attic struck twelve, it was now Christmas Day.

Merry Christmas, Mother, Father said O'Connor

O'Connor had been living with the McFly family in the 20th century for almost two months now, thanks to Doc's slight tweak in the timeline, he was legally adopted by the McFly family and unlike his abusive aunt back in his time, The McFlys had been treating him with love and compassion.

Marty and Chris had shown him the ropes of living life in the 1980's and it took a little while but he eventually settled into it, and he loved it, the movies, the mall, the arcade, the TV shows and cartoons, and most of all: the music, Chris had introduced him to the new wave music of the 80's, he loved hearing the synthesizers, drum machines and keyboard riffs, to him it was like a futuristic sound of piano music, Chris had introduced him to music by Gary Numan, Blondie, Devo, The B-52's, Talking Heads, Billy Idol, Culture Club, Oingo Boingo, Duran Duran and The Cars.

It was now Christmas Day, and O'Connor was suddenly awoken by Chris, they both shared a bunk bed which was they bought after O'Connor joined the family, Chris shook O'Connor awake and he rubbed his eyes and he woke.

O'Connor!, O'Connor, wake up it's Christmas! said Chris excitedly

It is? O'Connor said groggily

Yeah, come on let's go! said Chris

Chris ran out of the room, and O'Connor climbed down the top bunk, he then made his way to the living room to find the whole McFly family, George, Lorraine, Dave, Linda, Marty and Chris, in the living room in front of the Christmas tree, the sight of which made him smile and well up.

Merry Christmas, O'Connor said Chris

O'Connor then went and gave Chris and everybody a big hug, he was very grateful for being apart of this family, after which everyone started opening their presents, Lorraine had gifted George a copy of his favourite science fiction novel "Spaceman From Pluto" signed by the author, which George gave her some new jewelry, Dave had gotten a new suit to wear to the office, Linda had gotten a new pair of shoes. Marty had gotten some guitar strings, and the latest Huey Lewis and the News album on cassette, and Chris had gotten a guitar pedal for his new guitar as well as a new amplifier, and as for O'Connor he was given new clothes to replace his 19th century attire, and even his own Walkman.

But there was one present left and it was from Chris, it was a big present wrapped in red and green wrapping paper, O'Connor unwrapped it to reveal a Yamaha Keyboard

This was a great gift he could ever receive for Christmas, this meant he could play the piano again but also write his own piano compositions just like his father and with the different settings he could even use elements of new wave into his musi...

This was a great gift he could ever receive for Christmas, this meant he could play the piano again but also write his own piano compositions just like his father and with the different settings he could even use elements of new wave into his music, he then gave Chris a big hug.

Chris, this is...the best gift anyone has ever given me thank you said O'Connor

After all that was said and done O'Connor with Chris' help then set up the keyboard and he started playing the classical piano music he knew, He played with passion, this was the start of O'Connor's path to accomplishing his dream of playing piano like his father.
