We had found another house. It had been days since we last rested and we were all exhausted. After the farm, it was like we just couldn't stay in one place for more than a week. Something always came up, causing us to get back on our feet again.
And thats what had everyone on edge all the time. I mean, who could blame us?
It didn't help that Lori's baby could be coming any day now.
All this walking and moving around must be excruciating for her. And to add to that, we hardly have enough food to feed ourselves. I hope the baby will be born healthy. We have to find somewhere we can settle for a while for when she gives birth.
Daryl, Carl, Rick, and Glenn had gone inside the house to clear it. Once they were done, Rick held the door open for the rest of us to come inside. We carried our things, heading into the house and sitting in what seemed to be the living room.
We all sat down. Some on the floor, some on the couch. I decided to sit on the floor. I set my things down and looked around. I noticed Daryl sitting on a red couch, plucking the feathers off of a dead owl.
Carl had then entered the room. He sat down on the floor, reaching into his bag and pulling out a can opener. He had cans in front of him. I squinted, trying to see what kind of food it was.
He began opening the can. Rick stood at the window but turned around, walking over to his son. He bent down, picking up the canned food. He looked at the label, before angrily throwing the can into the fireplace.
That made people slightly jump. We all looked at him questioningly.
Must've been something bad.
The room was silent. Only peoples sighing and breathing could be heard.
"Psst." T-dog suddenly whispered. He gestured outside. There was a group of walkers headed our way.
We exited the house quickly and quietly, all our stuff in hand. Throwing all of our things into the trunks of our cars, everyone rushed to get in and slammed the doors behind them. Walkers were slowly approaching and we had to pick up the pace. Daryl drove ahead of everyone on his motorcycle.
I got into one of the cars and closed the door. The car took off as soon as I did.
I looked out of the window and behind us. I could see the herd of walkers sluggishly following after the sound of our engines.
