We had finally arrived at the C.D.C. I stepped out of the RV, scrunching my nose as I caught an awful scent- there was a shitload of corpses- everywhere.
"Oh, God." I grimaced, covering my nose.
"Alright everybody, keep moving. Stay quiet." Shane whispered.
We made our way through the graveyard, coughing and covering our noses.
"Keep moving, stay together." Rick encouraged.
The sound of flies buzzing filled my ears, my nostrils stung from the stench, my eyes watered- it was horrible out here.
We approached the C.D.Cs doors, Shane pounded his fist on the metal door.
"There's nobody here." T-dog said.
"Then why are these shutters down?" Rick retorted.
"Walkers!" Daryl suddenly yelled out, raising his crossbow, shooting it in the forehead.
"You led us right into a graveyard!"
"He made a call!" Dale tried.
"It was the wrong damn call!" Daryl yelled, he was starting to get aggressive.
"Just shut up, you hear me? Shut up!" Shane pushed Daryl. "Rick this is a dead end."
"Where are we gonna go?" Carol cried.
"She's right, we can't be this close to the city after dark." Lori panicked.
"Fort Benning- still an option, Rick." Shane said, trying to change Ricks mind about this place.
"Forget Fort Benning- we need answers tonight- now." Lori rushed.
Everyone started turning the other direction, running to leave.
"The camera- it moved." Rick said.
"You imagined it." Dale said.
"It moved." Rick insisted.
"Rick, it's dead man, it's an automated device- it's all gears." Shane approached Rick.
"It's dead, Rick. You have to let it go." He tried pushing Rick back, but he resisted, getting closer to the camera.
Rick suddenly pounded on the door. "I know you're in there. I know you can hear me. Please, we're desperate. We have women- children-" Rick begged.
"Everyone back to the cars, now!" Shane rushed.
I turned to look over my shoulder, hearing more growls. Walkers were approaching.
"We have to get out of here- more are coming!" I yelled.
Rick continued to pound on the door- begging for whoever was in there to let us in. Shane and Lori pulled him away, taking him to the cars as I followed.
"You're killing us! Please!" Rick shouted.
Suddenly the door opened- revealing a bright light as we all stood in shock.
-
We approached the doors, walking inside, weary of what could be in here.
"Daryl, you cover the back." Shane ordered.
"Hello?" Rick called out.
"Close those doors. Watch for walkers." Dale instructed.
I walked further in, looking around- when someone suddenly cocked their gun. Our group raised theirs.
"Anybody infected?" An unknown voice called out.
"One of our group was, he didn't make it." Rick answered.
